Since 1986 the HIKE Fund is in support of children in order that "Every child with joy may hear". The International Order of Job's Daughters supports this Fund in three forms HIKE USA, HIKE Canada and HIKE Australia. This effort of "Kids Helping Kids" is the official philanthropic project of Job's Daughters. HIKE uses the "I Love You" sign as their symbol and a constant reminder of the love and caring display by the young girls in Job's Daughters who work so hard for HIKE. HIKE is administered by a Board of Directors composed of volunteer members from the fields of Audiology, Business, Education, Labor, Law and Medicines. Total operating expenses are less than 5%. HIKE was created to increase support for hearing impaired kids and so far children have been helped in the USA, Canada, Australia and the Philippines. So far, in Manitoba, we have supplied the Seven Oaks Hospital with an infant diagnostic device. We supply educational, diagnostic and theraputic aid to all children in need, provided the need is verified by a prescription from a physician or audiologist and the parents are financially unable to meet the special need. The Fund has awarded many types of devices including, but not limited to, hearing aids, PM systems, closed caption converters, tactile units, alerting systems, and specialized sports equipment, to aid hearing impaired children in communication. All donations to the HIKE fund are tax deductible: TAX I.D. NO. 0883611-09. If you are or know of someone who may wish to assist or may benefit from the HIKE Fund please e-mail the webmaster.
