Fairfield Gains Major Presence on Emerald Coast with Acquisition of Three Destin, Florida Properties

Orlando, Fl--(October 21, 1999)--Fairfield Communities, Inc. announced its acquisition of existing timeshare inventory at two operating vacation ownership properties in Destin, Florida, the Bay Club at Sandestin and Club Destin. In addition, the Company has purchased land for development of 30 new units at the Bay Club. The Company also announced that it has entered into a contract to purchase 68 units at a new Gulf-front resort, the Majestic Sun, which is a part of the SeaScape Resort in Destin, with an option for future expansion at |
the resort. "Destin, Florida boasts 24 miles of sugar-white beaches, top-ranked golf courses, and an abundance of water sports," said Jim Berk, Fairfield's President and CEO. "Destin is the perfect addition to Fairfield's nationwide portfolio of luxury resorts and significantly expands the beachfront vacation experiences available to our members." located on the prestigious 2400-acre Sandestin Resort, a well- known golf and tennis resort that offers 72 holes of championship golf, 18 tennis courts, a private marina, a health club, shopping and restaurants. The SeaScape gated community features a major tennis facility, an 18-hole championship golf course, 2,000 feet of sugar-white beach, water sport rental facilities and other swimming and exercise amenities, and a Gulf-front restaurant. Occupancy at the Majestic Sun, began during late summer 2000. |
