~Grandmas' Attic~
When
I was just a little girl
I can
still remember when
I explored
my Grandmas' attic
What
a joy that was back then.
To sit
and ramble through boxes
of old
dresses and shoes
to find
old photographs of people
who
I never knew.
I remember
finding a picture
of my
Grandmothers' wedding day
She
and Grandpa looked so happy
I still
remember that smile today.
I remember
finding a toy or two
some
so old they fell apart
I knew
they were treasures from long ago
dear
to Grandmas' heart.
I remember
putting on her wedding dress
and
as I turned around in place..
Grandma
stood smiling in the doorway
tears
running down her face.
Those
years have long since passed
and
those years I used to play
But
I'll always treasure Grandmas' attic
and
the smile she wore that day.
