~The Bride~
I stand here and look in amazement
at the beauty in front of
me.
Is this still my little girl
I wonder?
The one that I still see.
I see her now all dressed
in white
For today's her wedding day.
I brush a tear that silently
falls;
and blink the other away.
"Where did the years go?",
I am thinking;
as I watch my precious child.
She looks up and says "Are
you ok Mom?"
And I whisper "Yes" and smile.
I remember the first time
I held her
on the day that she was born.
I gaze at her now in wonder
Such beauty now sitting adorned.
I remember her very first
birthday
What we 'celebrated' she didn't
know.
But those 'birthdays' quickly
flew by
Where did the years all go?
I still see her running in
my mind
A childs' laughter rings in
my head.
I still see her playing with
her toys
I remember the first book
she read.
I remember her very first
boyfriend
I can recall the flowers he'd
bring.
Then one day she met the "right
one".
The 'one' who brought the
ring.
I gaze at her now and know
what I see
A woman before me in lace
and pearls.
Though I know in my heart she'll
forever be
My precious child - my little
girl.

If you are a Mom and have a
daughter who is in love and
getting married this summer
- please send them this page!
I know they will always and
forever remember you for it!
I thought of my own Mom as
I wrote this; and now I feel
like I have truly 'seen' through
my own Mothers' eyes.
It was a very 'enlightening'
experience!
