If you could be a light in the darkness
and light up someones' way
If you could share a kind word
I wonder what you'd say?

If you could shine like the stars above
and light up a summer night
What city would you shine on
What eyes would view your light?

If you could be anything you wanted
anything you can name
I wonder what you'd become one day
when you put your doubts to shame.

If you could share a smile each day
a kind word or deed 
I wonder who would prosper the most from it
and who would spread the need

If you could visit someone sick
perhaps the elderly or a friend
I wonder who'd see the light in you
when the day came to an end?

So the next time you feel like giving up
to a problem or lifes' cares
remember you're a light in the darkness
who was born to shine somewhere!
