I brought you into this world to teach you
things like hope and faith and love.
I hope I can instill values in your life
and give you all the above.

Though I fail you at times for I'm human
I hope those times far between and few
and when I realize that I should let go
may I remember this day with you.

I held you as my precious child
in arms that were showered with tears
and prayed for strength you'd grow up
conquering your pain and all your fears.

I hope I can be there always for you
through the good and bad in life
I must let you fight your own battles
and remember to stand aside.

I know you must grow up on your own
and I can only guide you along each day
but some things you must do alone
as love is meant that way.

So on this day my precious one
Remember that Moms are human too
and when you've grown up -I must let go..
to see the Woman in you.

Maybe you're a Mom and there are things you can't say to your daughter.  Maybe you have given her the best of your wisdom and knowledge; and she has grown up now and left home.  Maybe you haven't let 'go' of that precious child who is now a woman.  Maybe you don't 'agree' today.

Maybe it's time to tell her you love her - and will stand aside now
and let her grow up??  Have you really done that?

Knowing from my own experience with my Mother - that is easier
'said than done'?

But Moms - please know this - women must stand alone in life to grow up.
Women need to know their Moms  love them - but also that YOU can
'let go of them'.
It's not easy to do-but standing beside your daughter through her faults and failures without criticism can far outweigh all the words you can speak.
Sure you want to spare your daughter pain and heartache if possible;
BUT it is only through pain and heartache we as women learn to live.

Moms - PLEASE..

Take time today to tell your daughter...

I LOVE YOU and want you to make your own decisions and your OWN mistakes.   I must learn to respect your decisions no matter what.

I won't stand beside you now - but behind you to support you IF you fall
or fail.  Just know that I am here for you.  I want you to know that.

I am going to let go today of my criticism of your decisions and failures.

I am going to LOVE YOU and let you grow up to be the WOMAN you
should become!!

Moms - do it today!!

Women become women because of Moms who give of their hearts and love...

But say "it's YOUR turn now to become a WOMAN".

If you have distanced yourself with a daughter because of trying to
control her life (maybe in subtle/or not so subtle ways)-
STOP and LISTEN!!

You may just hear for the first time - your daughter.

Don't you think it's time to listen??
You may be surprised at what she has to say!

Thank you for visiting my webpages. The above came from 'the heart'.  I as an only child, have a Mom who meant well; but controlled my life until I stopped it myself. It was not easy to distance myself from a Mom who had tried to control all my adult life.  I love her-YES!!  But I have took back control of many years...years I tried to do what "Mom thought best"?
I made many mistakes and found out I can please only 'me' as an adult.
I have to live with my decisions-and need to make them for myself.
It took many years for me to realize this on my own, as an adult.
Through counseling and therapy-I have took back control of my own life.
My Mom and I are now talking and sharing - instead of arguing over
who is right and wrong.  We wasted many precious years as adults.
Moms--PLEASE...if this is "YOU" - stop now and send this to your daughter!!

Forgive yourself and then she can forgive you.
Then begin to love each other the way it is MEANT to be!

I hope this message helps Moms and Daughters to share
Love and mutual respect for each other.

Isn't that what being a Mom is all about???
