Some of the differences between The Quran and The Bible

you will find that many of the surahs (chapters) of the Quran were named after animals, after incense, after rocks, after so many things. And I will name some of these surat: in the second surat, surat number two is named 'the cow,' surat (Albakarah) in Arabic. And then, surat number six 'the cattle (Alinaam) in Arabic. And then surat number 16, (Alnahel) 'the bee'. And then surat number 27, (Alnamel) 'the ant.' Then surat 52 (Altawr) that is 'Mount Sinai.' And in the end, surat 57 (Alhadid) 'the iron.' Then surat 95 (Alteen) 'the fig.' And then surat 105, (Alfeel) 'the elephant.' And then surat 72, 'the demon' (Algin).
And then you read the Quran, and when you read it, and you ask yourself, is it reasonable that the God of heaven will name the books, or the chapters of his books, and as I mentioned, the Quran is 114 surat, the surat is a chapter. Will he name a chapters of his books according to the cow, and the ant, and the bee, and the elephant? What are these things?

And when you come to the Bible, you see the book of Genesis, Exodus, Numbers. Then you come to names like Ruth, Esther. You come to Samuel, 2 Samuel. When you come to the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. But the elephant, iron, fig? I really cannot understand. I cannot say that these indicate that this book is really the book of God.
Then I would say that the Quran is not self-interpreted. This is different from the Bible. In surat Abasa, surat 80, we read this word, and again, I read from the Quran because I like always to refer to the original. And it is here, "he frowned and turned away because it came to him the blind man." We'll now stop. Who frowned? Who is that blind man? No answer! The Quran will not give you an answer. You have to go to the biography of Mohammed, by Ibn Hisham, to really know who frowned. Prophet Mohammed frowned. Why did he frowned? Because he was talking to some of the rich people of Kuraish, and then this blind man came. Who was that blind man? Again, in the biography, not in the Quran. And that is Ibn Maktoob, and he came, and interrupted Mohammed, and Mohammed frowned. You cannot understand it then, without going to the biography of Mohammed. That is contrary to the Bible. You cannot understand the book of Hebrews unless you read the book of Leviticus. You cannot understand the book of Revelations unless you read the book of Genesis. There is a big difference. The Bible is self-interpreted. You take the Bible as a whole, you read it as a whole, you don't need any biography outside the Bible to understand the Bible.

Then I go and I say here, that the Quran, also, contradicts in many, many ways what God said, in marriage and divorce, in law. I will talk about that later. In dealing with wife, when the Quran permits the Muslim to beat his wife. Banish her from bed. Don't have sex with her, because this is punishment. And then, you come to the Bible, and you see a totally different concept and command.
And then we go to the names of God in the Quran. You'll not find in the Quran the name of God as 'father'. And you cannot find in the Quran the name of God as 'love'. God the Father, God is love, there are not mentioned in the Quran. You know why? Because if we admit that God is the eternal Father, He must have an eternal son, and that means that we have to profess and declare that Jesus is the eternal Son of God.
Number two, if we declare that God is love, we have to declare also that, "God gave his only begotten son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This is why the Quran omits the name of God as Father, and the name of God as love. This are very clear differences between the Quran and the Bible.

The Bible has so many evidences about its authenticity. And I would say the first book, the first evidence of the first proof, is the prophetic proof. You go through the Bible, and you'll read prophecies that were recorded 1,000 years, 2,000 years, 500 years, and it was declared and it was fulfilled to the letter, to the letter! All the prophecies in the Bible were really fulfilled to the letter. The prophetic proof is one proof that the Bible is the authentic word of God.

The second is the scientific proof, and I mean that in the Bible you will have many scientific proofs. Well, the discovery that the planet Earth is a sphere, you know, before Copernicus, Galileo, the people said, "No, no, no! Planet Earth is flat!" And when Galileo said it is a sphere, they said, "No. You are a heretic!" But the Bible, before Galileo, in Isaiah chapter 40:22, "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth" [Is:40:22] He said that the planet Earth is a sphere. This is contrary to the Quran. In the Quran we read that they do they not consider how the Earth has been flattened out, and that is in surat Al Ghashiah, surat 88, and verse 20 “(Do they not look) to the earth how it has been surfaced and planed?” [Qur'an 88:20] . Look at this also “And when the earth is flattened and it throws off what is in it and gets emptied” [Qur'an 84:3].``  In 1993, the supreme religious authority of Saudi Arabia, Sheik Abdel-Aziz ibn Baaz, issued a edict, or fatwah, declaring that the world is flat. Anyone of the round persuasion does not believe in God and should be punished.''

Then the discovery of the effect of the moon. You know, that the moon can strike the person like the sun. No book said that, but the Bible. And in the Bible we read that the moon can strike a man, and in fact, if the man is struck by the moon, he will become insane. "The Lord is thy keeper. The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day. Nor the moon by night." And the word is in Psalms 121-5,6. Amazing! Here is the book of God, and He is telling us scientific things.

Then the discovery of the crushing of the atom, and atomic energy. And the scientific discovery of the science of metrology, concerning the water cycle. And the scientific discovery of the importance of the blood. All these are in the Bible. You don't see things like that in the Quran. In fact, the Quran, in the first surat, given to Mohammed, and this spirit came and said to him, "Read in the name of thy lord who created man from a clot." Clot? What is the meaning of the clot? You go to any Arabic dictionary, and you read that the word 'clot' means frozen blood. Were we created from frozen blood? Totally incorrect, but this is what the Quran says! It's the first surat that was given to Mohammed. And I am not inventing that. Anyone can go to the Quran and read it. "Read in the name of thy lord, who created man from a clot." Man was not created from the clot! Man was created from the dust of the earth.

Then, when we continue and see that there is another proof, and that is the moral proof. And what do I mean by that? The moral proof means that we cannot invent things, or commandments, or standards, over our ability. But the Bible is full, is full, of things that are really over our ability. When the Lord Jesus Christ, in His sermon on the Mount, what did He say? Anyone who looks to a woman to lust after her. What are you saying, a man who looks at a woman who lust after her? He committed adultery already? What are you saying, Lord? Oh, we falling creatures. When we look to a beautiful woman, most probably we lust after them. This is above our ability. This is over our ability. This crime of moral command cannot come from our mental ability. It cannot come from Socrates, it cannot come from any philosopher, it cannot come from Buddha, it cannot come from anyone. And Mohammed didn't even mention anything like that in his Quran.

So when you look through the moral standards of the Bible, you will see that Jesus Christ gave a thing that it is beyond out ability. "Love your enemy. Bless those who curse you. Do good to those who hate you. Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." Could we do that without the grace of God? Absolutely no! We cannot. We hate those who hate us. We really want to revenge those who are our enemies. But Jesus said, "No." Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you. Do good for those who harm you. This is beyond human abilities. It needs the grace of God in our hearts; it needs a change, it needs that the person might be born-again.
