Dreamgirl

Dreamgirl
By Jason Smith

Dreamgirl, ever
in my dreams, and memories.
Forever, it seems.

She is always seen,
yet never remembered. Her
image is a blur.

Love of a distant
time, place, or both. Reminding
me of a past love

and a future one.
One that has lasted through long
ages, centuries.

Ever dreaming, and
ever hoping and knowing
that we will be one.

Still, we are one in
our dreams and memories. We
are ever searching

for each other. Dreams
bind us, make our minds as one.
Together, if not

in body, then in
soul. Dancing, weaving; in, out.
Our hearts, mingling.

Giving, taking, til
we meet; making ourselves whole
again, forever.

Holding out our arms,
embracing, holding the other
for eternity.
