I will change this format to thumbnails once I figure out how for visitor's ease of viewing.!! |
Milano Chassis shown in full. Notice, this is actually the chassis from the Alfa SV, a high performance Zagato bodied roadster that was modified to produce exotic car performance. This car wasn't imported to the US and still brings in high numbers when sold used. It is possible to get all of the great chassis features of this super car in a really cheap package. Alfa has produced this magnificent design in the Alfetta, GTV6, and Milano (75 outside the US) and the very sporting Milano Verde all of which can be attained for under $10,000 in great condition. What a deal!! When I'm old enought to drive I'll probably buy a Milano....oh the possibilities! |

*Inboard brakes allow unsprung weight (weight that's not part of the springs job to keep you comfortable) to be kept at a minimum. *De Dion rear suspension set up allows for neglegible camber change as the rear suspension arms move with the road. *Transaxle mounted in the rear of the car for proper weight distribution from front to rear. This housing holds the clutch, diferential, gearbox, and axle joints so there is quite a bit of weight held back there. *Alfetta chassis have an optimal weight distribution: 50/50 f/r. This is what all the other manufacturers try to get and most can not succeed. |

*Sharp readers will notice that the SZ chassis deleted the odd torsion bar front suspension setup from the Alfetta/Milano(75). Looks like Alfa decided to go with the conventional "Coil Over" setup all around. |
The mechanicaly inclined viewers will notice that this engine sports a twin cam 4 cylinder head design to allow the 4 piston engine to breathe properly and produce power!! Variable valve timing will help too.... |
