Hi James,
Are you in the States now? If yes, maybe you can go to Chinatown
of San Francisco, New York,etc.. and they might have it. There maybe some
here in Toronto in Canada.
You can join the Anzen Chitai mailing list and ask other people
if they know there are places selling Anzen Chitai CDs. You should know
that this band is not active any more and their latest album is like 5
years ago and all previous albums are out of print now. However, I am
pretty sure that you can still get some copies in Hong Kong. So if you are
really desperated for the CDs, try to see if there are friends going to
Hong Kong and they can buy them for you.
As for online CD ordering, I don't think they will have it
because as I mentioned before, the band won't produce any new album and
all previous albums are out of print now.

Hi Anchi friends,
Some people have been asking me where they could find Anzen
Chitai CDs. So far I only know there might still be some in Hong Kong but
not sure for Japan and other countries. If in the States or Canada, I
will try the Chinatown...any other ideas?

I think you can buy at J-town LA or SF. In Hongkong or Japan the whole
collection is available everday. In HKG, HMV chain carries the complete
collection, and so are many Japanese record store here. It is probably
cheaper in HKG and JPY.

I was just in HK recently. Yes, most of the Anchi CDs are available
there, but they are pressed by a HONG KONG company (I think Hong Kong
SONY), and NOT by "Kitty Records" (which all the Anchi original CDs are
pressed by).
However, the odd times (at some small CD shop) you'll find the Kitty
originals. The problem with the HK versions (and I have a couple of
them) is that they are NO WHERE NEAR the audio quality of the Kitty
products.

I'm listening to 'Lonely Far' right now off the 7th CD. My fiancee got
all his CDs from the Kinokuniya bookstore in Yaohan plaza on
Saratoga-Sunnyvale road (at 280) in San Jose. I picked up my 2-CD
collection of disc 5, and I last saw copies (japanese) of Cds !, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6, 7, 8, Akogare, and I think a Best collection.
My finacee also picked up (while in Japan a year ago) Wataru Yahagi's
albums ( just two) but i need to figure out which ones they are (am not
well-vested with remembering Kanji off the top of my head, heh)
All these CDs my fiancee own are of the original Kitty quality and
pressing. These Cds are worth the price (I think they're around $27) and
though I trust HK quality some portion of the time, I wouldn't in the
case of these CDs-being how old they are.
Another store I think everyone may know about is Taiyodo Record in the
Kintetsu building of the Japan Center mall in San Francisco. They even
have CDs of Yutaka Ozaki and enka-style Chage & Aska!!!
Anyway, just my two cents.
If any one goes to the Tamaki Koji concert, can you get pictures for
me???? I'll pay dearly for them. But the concert is just too soon for
me
:(

About the up-coming concert, I don't know who's going to it, but if that
person would be SO-GOOD as to buy some concert programs for some of us
unfortunate ones who can't afford to attend. I would (like you say) pay
dearly for it. Alternatively, if someone knows how to get the programs
directly shipped to us in Canada or USA, that would be great as well.

Happy New Year to all of you Anchi ML members!
Here's the first post of the year..
Just finished watching the annual Ko-haku Utagassen. For those of you
who are not familiar with it, here's some basic info on it.
Every 12/31, the NHK channel chooses singers (about 40 total? 20 men ,
20 women) to perform at their annual Ko-haku Utagassen. Singers are
divided into two teams....men's team (white) and women's team (red).
Each teams alternate and have their singers perform their song. NHK
selects the singers based on his/her popularity during the year as well
as singer's contribution to the Jpnz music world. At the end, judges
(many of them celebrities) and the audience choose the winning team. As
you can see, being selected to sing in the Kohaku Utagassen is very
prestigeous, because only 40 or so singers are selected each year.
And our man, Tamaki Koji, was there for the first time since.....when?
Was he singing "Kanashimi ni Sayonara" when he attended the Utagassen
last time? I don't remember if "Sukisa" or any other later songs were
popular enough to get him into the Utagassen. The last time I remember
seeing him for sure was when he and Anchi sang "Kanashimi ni Sayonara".
He performed at about the half way mark of the 3 hour program. After a
brief introduction by the white team captain, Furutachi Ichiro, Tamaki
Koji started performing his hit song, Den'en. He was wearing a gray (?)
pants (guys, please feel free to contribute or correct this thread...I'm
typing this from my memory which ain't much!) with white jacket. It was
really nice to hear the audience clapping their hands in unison with the
rhythm of the song. Then, I noticed something...the band that's
performing is YOUNG! It turns out to be that instead of Tamaki's usual
back band perform the song, Tamaki had the members of another popular
band, TOKIO, play for him (FYI, TOKIO was also attending the Utagassen as
themselves). I believe TOKIO is sort of rock / hard rock type of group,
but they were playing it pretty darn well. At the first refrain, Tamaki
Koji signaled one of the guitarists to join in the chorus and they both
sang on the same microphone. It was really neat to see Tamaki Koji and
TOKIO performing together, really enjoying the atmosphere. He got so
excited that he sang the wrong lyric at the last refrain, showing a
bitter smile as he finished the song. But that's OK....it was a party,
so all they needed to do was to enjoy playing the music. And only a few
people would have caught that mistake anyways....the song did make sense
even with what he said.
BTW, anybody wanna figure out the chords for this song? I think the key
is in C major, and not too many difficult chords were used, as far as I
can see...but then again, I can be totally off... ;-)
That's about it. He seems to have recovered from his illness, and seems
ready for the concert tour coming up early in the year!
As I said, if any of you saw the Utagassen, please contribute to this
post or make corrections, ok? Meanwhile, I wish all of you a wonderful
1997.

Yes, the last performance from Tamaki san in Kohaku was indeed
"Kanashimi ni Sayonara" and that was in the 1986 Kohaku!! I really want
to see that!!! Anyone has it??! :)

I think he is wearing an ordinary blue jeans with a white jacket.
He looks ok but a bit old....but nevermind, I think he is ok for the
upcoming concert.
