Air Elemental:
Air elementals are the second best unupgraded level 3 creatures. The incredible thing is that
they are themselves only level 2 creatures. In every way their statistics are great and they
cannot be blinded too. There are three severe drawbacks as well. Their basic growth is very
low, even lower than many level 3 creatures. The second drawback is their vulnerability for
Lightning spells. The last drawback is their cost in gold, comparable to the cost of a level 3
creature. These powerful but vulnerable creatures become even more powerful when upgraded.
Earth Elemental:
Earth Elementals are without any doubt at all the very worst level 5 creatures ever. They are
too slow to be useful in combat, their Attack and Defense skills are low and their damage is
unimaginably low. In fact, their damage is so extremely low that it would seem to be a level
3 creature in stead of a level 5 one. Their immunity is ok, but their vulnerability is quite
dangerous as well. They cost not that much and their basic growth is better than average, but
they are not capable of dealing with a job more difficult than defending a town when no better
creatures are present.
Energy Elemental:
Energy Elementals are faster than Fire Elementals and they can fly for only a small increase
in cost. They still are rather weak creatures that are only useful in a combo with Armageddon
or if you have no other troops to deploy in your army.
Firebird:
Firebirds are one of the weakest but cheapest unupgraded level 7 creatures. Their fire immunity
is great, as is their breath attack. Their speed is unmatched among unupgraded level 7 creatures,
but the thing that is really astounding is their basic growth. Their basic growth is 2 in stead
of 1, this means twice as much Firebirds as any other level 7 creature. Given enough time, you
can accumulate a stack of Firebirds that large, that you can overpower any army. Upgraded they
become even more dangerous.
Fire Elemental:
This is where things start to go wrong in the Conflux ranks. Fire elementals are among the
worst level 4 creatures in the game. They have a descent health, average Attack and Defense
skills, an above average speed and a nice basic growth. Seems nice, but they deal hardly
any damage and they cost too much. The increased damage from cold spells is not a good thing
either but fire immunity is pretty neat. Upgraded they become a bit more valuable.
Ice Elemental:
Ice Elementals can be called the best upgraded level 3 creature. They have a better speed
than Water Elementals, are able to cast Protection From Water and they have a powerful
ranged attack. The speed of Ice Elementals is still quite slow and they suffer from a melee
penalty so they definitely need some protectors to guard them in combat.
Magic Elemental:
Magic Elementals are not the weakest upgraded level 6 creatures, in large numbers they
can even form a very powerful stack in your army. They are immune to all magic, this
means that they cannot be resurrected, but this also means that they are almost
unstoppable. Together with their increased damage, increased health and faster speed for
a mild increase in cost; this makes Magic Elementals a valuable part of any Conflux army.
Magma Elemental:
Magma Elementals are still the worst upgraded level 5 creatures, but their speed is better
and their damage is increased some. They are definitely more capable of defending your
town than Earth Elementals, so buy these if you really really need defenders and have
sufficing funds.
Phoenix:
Phoenix have more healthpoints, an increased attack skill and a very much enhanced speed.
They still are among the weakest upgraded level 7 creatures but they are the cheapest too
and their speed is unmatched in the game. All the elements that make Firebirds so good also
apply to Phoenix, meaning that the Armageddon combo is also applicable on Phoenix. The
Rebirth ability is really useful. One fifth of the original stack of Phoenix is resurrected
automatically when the last of the stack dies. Unfortunately, this means that the original
stack must be wiped out first. Might be interesting to split phoenix up in multiple small
stacks for a better chance to get Rebirth. Check the Clone spell for a combo too.
Pixie:
Pixies are the cheapest and weakest allied (not neutral) creatures and the second worst units
in the game. Even in large numbers they remain quite useless and should be upgraded as
soon as possible. The only possible functions for Pixies in an early army are being able to
cast a spell before the enemy hero can, (Pixies are the fastest unupgraded level 1 creatures)
or absorbing damage from enemy ranged attackers so your own ranged attackers stay safe.
Psychic Elemental:
Several level 6 creatures have better statistics than Psychic Elementals. This does not mean
that they are completely useless. Their mind spell immunity is very nice and a number of
spells are particularily interesting to use on them. (Bless, Counterstrike, Haste, Prayer...)
They suffer a bit from the wide damage range but their no enemy retaliation and their spread
attack make them a unit the enemy forces must try to avoid at all times. When upgraded, they
become much more powerful but a number of combos are lost since the upgrade is immune to all
spells.
Sprite:
Sprites are still the weakest upgraded level 1 creatures but they have many advantages over
Pixies for only a few goldpieces more. Their damage range is sligtly increased, as is their
speed. Because their speed is unmatched among other level 1 creatures and because they
are the only flying level 1 unit (with no enemy retaliation) plus the fact that their basic growth is
enormous, Sprites can really form a very powerful unit during the early game. Unfortunately
most Sprites will have perished by the end of the early game so that they cannot form more
than a sacrificial stack in an important army.
Storm Elemental:
Storm Elementals are the deadliest upgraded level 2 creatures in the game. With their many
shots they are very reliable ranged attackers. Their no melee penalty makes them very
capable of melee combat as well. They can cast Protection From Air, which is nice. (but not
super) Be sure to take advantage of their large damage range by using Bless on them and
beware of Lightning spells.
Water Elemental:
Water Elementals are the best unupgraded level 3 creatures in the game. They have lots of
healthpoints, a great Attack and Defense skill and a smaller damage range than Air- and Storm
Elementals. Their immunities and vulnerabilities are not as severe as those of the Air- and
Storm Elementals and Water Elementals cannot be blinded as well. Some drawbacks are
their cost in gold and their low basic growth. Their largest problem is their relatively slow
speed. When upgraded, Water Elementals become the second great ranged attackers of the
Conflux.
