In The Mouth Of Madness Trivia

In the end credits there is one saying something approximating: "This movie was supervised by the Interplanetary Humane Society ... Body count was high and casualties are heavy."

John Carpenter was clearly influenced by the excellent film Quatermass and The Pit. For 'Prince of Darkness' he uses the name Quatermass as a pseudonym on the writing credit. Quatermass and the Pit's location - the subway station at "Hobb's End" - is also the name of the town in 'In The Mouth of Madness'.
