COMMENTARY BY JACK:   Nudity in some governments and some religions  is concealed because it is a reminder that we are an animal like species. Not only do they conceal the fact that we are a biological being interacting with our environment but the origin of the concealment has a far greater significance..  You do not have to be a rocket scientist nor a spiritual leader to see that this comes from Genesis, Chapter 3, 7-8.

7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Once they knew they were naked (biological beings) they concealed this fact by manipulating their environment (sewed fig leaves).  This was the beginning of concealing the truth.  This concealment reached its apex with Machiavelli when he stated that "the image of what you are is more important than what you are". Capitalism itself got its big boost with the Machiavellian era.  Concealment, deceit and Capitalism are entwined

Apparently with this knowledge of "good an evil" came stupidity.  Like you can hide yourself from the "Lord God"?    Notice that they did continue to try to hide themselves from God. And I think "God" can be literally or metaphorically   interpreted as "Truth".
