La Haine VS Asian Dub Foundation Review January 2004

On the 17th of January 2004 Asian Dub Foundation play live music along with the french cult classic La Haine. I have seen La Hain several times since it's release. The movies subject mater of the ghettos in Paris and the fighting between the police and street youth. Alain Juppe [prime minister of france at the time] called a special screening for his cabinet to watch the movie. This intense film work well with the live sound of Asian Dub Foundation. Who's intense sound bring to life all the Confrontations, Anger and Hate.

At times I forgot that Asian Dub Foundation was on stage playing while the movie was rolling during the hour and a half I was sitting down watching an all time favorite. Every thing went off with out a hitch the sound was smooth and every thing worked. You could tell the time an effort was put into creating this soundtrack.

The mixture of La Haine and Asian Dub Foundation is an intense audio visual experience I think that is because. How Asian Dub Foundation identify with the movie.

I haven't planned to talk too much about the movie since it is more like a back up dancer for an intense audio assault of the senses. Music filled with anger, racism and confrontation. Don't get me wrong La Haine is great movie but the focus for me was the music that Asian Dub foundation created for this piece of cult cinema.

Each of the 3 main characters in the movie have their own sound and feel. Every scene every second every moment had there own sound. The live music I found gave the movie more life. It felt so dream like but so intense. One my favorite Christmas presents.
