| Name : Asatru Tradition or path of : pagan path Start in : unknow Founder : unknow but have germanic root and norse mythology Ethic : yes , the nine noble virtues Three degree system : no Particularity : form of writing call rune , specific divinity , no degree system Description : Asatru is a pagan path that seem different.It doesn't have the three degree system like wicca but they also have priest call gothi ( men ) and gythia ( women).It is a reconstruction of ancient norse people who honor the norse mythology ( like Odin , Thor ).In norse mythology , people think the gods live on earth with human not in the sky.They are still present around people.The ethic is the 9 noble virtues which are : courage , thruth, honor , fidelity , discipline(self rule), hospitality, perseverance , free standin/ self reliance and industriousness.Follower of asatru have a system of value and respect.Group of practionner are call kindred or hearth or garths , they also honor the soltice and equinox like other pagan.Ancient norse people create a form of writing that everyone know today as the rune.Asatru is mostly a reconstruction of the religion of viking.Odinism is not a tradition of asatru : it is similar but it's an other pagan path. |

| Name : eclectic witchcraft or solitary Tradition or path of : pagan path Start in : +- with the arrival of the wicca in the middle of 20 century Founder : no specific founder Ethic : yes Three degree system : no Particularity : eclectic form of paganism Description : Eclectic withcraft or solitary is the path of those who have choose to take what is the best for them and to don't have restriction like only honor one pantheon of divinity.This form of paganism is particular because it's mostly for those who are alone or choose to not practice in group. .In general, people choose a path and did exactly what it is but for those who don't like restriction like : only one pantheon of gods , hierarchy ( I mean priest and high priest ) , the choice is not very large.Eclectic mean to take the best of , but not pic and mix or having no ethic.Because of the eclectic form ,it's sometimes not respect by some other pagan which consider this can't be a path.Yes it is.Sometimes it's practice by people who can't join a group but it's not always the case.Eclectic witchcraft can be close of a specific path but some element are change or replace which mean it can't be consider the exact path because of the changement. A path to explore for those who always have the impression they are totally out. |
