This is the ONE and ONLY poem of my creation that'll ever appear here; I have no desire to bore you, or to pollute the 'net, with bad, angst ridden verse. This one poem, however, is the best I've ever written, or will ever write, composed after the death of someone who I loved (and still love) very much.... Just to be clear, I don't literally see myself as a 'fallen angel'. But I am drawn to the term, time and time again, and I hope to make it clear in this journal what it means to me. Click on the banner above, or here, to go to the online journal.... |
This poem, 'Funeral Blues' by W.H. Auden relates to my own 'Two Hearts in a Box', in as much as it is about loss and grief. Clearly he's the superior poet, which is why I've included it here. It may be familiar to you as it featured in the film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. Click on the link above or here to go to 'Funeral Blues'. |
'The Story' is a short story written a few years ago for a competition run by one of the leading, daily newspapers here. Being familliar with the chosen winning works of previous years, I decided to enter something that would send a little message to the 'Judges'; traditionally, the winning entries were fairly conventional family-orientated pieces, where there's distance between parent/child or siblings, but everything is worked out by the story's end under the shade of some signifigant tree planted on the grounds of the family home... Needless to say, I didn't win ... but that's just fine. 'The Story' is not perfect in structure or style, but I do still like what it says. To read it, click the links or the Main Title above.... |
