Love incantations and other such prayers were directed towards both the goddesses and gods, and by the power of Sun, the Moon, and the winds. No argument was made against the talismans of magic power and mystic formulas handed down through the centuries or tradition, nor would anyone venture to laugh at them, or an evil fate might certainly fall on the scorner. Above all things, fervent faith was necessary while the mystic words were uttered by the Shaman, or the charm would not work for good.
The girl who wished to see her future husband would go out and gather certain herbs in the light of the Full Moon, repeating this charm:
"Moon, Moon, tell unto me,
When my true love I shall see?
What fine clothes am I to wear?
How many children shall I bear?
For if my loves come not to me,
Dark and dismal my life will be."
The girl, cutting three pies of clay from the sod with a black-hafted knife, carried them home, tied them up in the left stocking with the right garter, placed the parcel under her pillow, and dreamed a true dream of the man she was to marry and of all her future fate.
Magickal verses that rhyme bring forth spirit; they are vibration of manifestation, for they are the original form of music. These magickal verses or incantations can be used alone or with the addition of performing a spell.

When the torment of a love unaccepted and unreturned weighs heavy upon the heart and soul, you may choose to purge it with fire. To start, kneel before a blazing fire with a handful of dried vervain leaves. Toss the entire handful into the blaze at once along with the words:

Purge me of pain, let it torment no more.
Consume the hurt, that my soul is set free.
As I will, so mote it be!"
As the fragrance of the herb pentrates the air, breathe it in deeply, and visualize your entire being filling with peace and calm.

To create an elixir of love mist, fill a spray bottle with water and gather Venus oils - such as rose, geranium, cherry, ylang ylang, or vanilla. Draw a pentagram on the ground or floor to work within, and place drops of oil into the water until you are pleased with the scent. Ideally, work outdoors beneath Venus, the first bright evening star. If this is not possible, visulaize a dark sky and focus on the brightest star.
Raise your hands toward the light of that star and feel the flow of the goddess of love. Bring down her power and let it flow from your hands into the scented water. Put on the spray cap, and spray straight up into the air letting the lovely scented mist drifting down on you. Spray mist as desired to charge areas and yourself.

The drippings from the candles you use in your spells and rituals can help divine who your future love might be. Save them and when ready melt the bits of wax in a pot until the mass is liquefied. Pour a good amount of the melted wax into a bowl of cold water. As the wax cools in the water, it will take on an unique shape.
Let your mind go free as you look at the hardened was figure, much as you would while watching clouds on a lazy summer day. The wax will form a shape that will reveal something about your future love. A sailor may be represented by an anchor, a fisherman by a fish, or a banker by a money sack. While this rite may not bring your future love to your doorstep, it may help you to look in all the right places for your heart's fulfillment.

Valentine's Day is the ideal time of the year for women and men to perform love magic. To attract a new lover into your life, draw a bath during any of the Venus hours of this day (7 am, 2 pm, or 9 pm). To the bathwater add a handful of rose petals and six drops of music oil. (Six is a magical number ruled by Venus) To enhance the spell, burn love-attracting incense such as African Violet, cherry, cinnamon, gardenia, ginger, hibiscus, jasmine, lavender, lotus, rose, strawberry, or vanilla.
Surround the tub with the flickering flames of pink candles and then fill your mind with romantic thoughts as you bathe and whisper the following rhyme:
"Lover hear me call to thee.
Let these words enchant and draw.
Lover find your way to me.
Love is the magic, love is the law.
As it is willed, so mote it be."

To make a potent love powder, place some plain talc in a small bowl and leave in the moonlight before a Full Moon. The next night, add 7 drops of geranium oil, 7 of ylang ylang oil, and 3 of patchouli oil. Again, leave in the moonlight. On the third night add one more drop of each essence, concentrating on the enchanting and transformative power of the Moon-drenched powder. Visualize it glowing with the power to bewitch any who come into contact with it. Place the powder in tinfoil to keep it fresh, and wear or scatter a little whenever you desire to attract love.
You will need:
First carve a heart in your candle with a tack or toothpick. Light the candle in a window where it will receive moonlight (full moon light is best). Put the scent container in front of the candle and say:
"Venus, grant me the love that I lack
Through this scent, my mate attract!"
Let the candle burn out naturally, then carry the scent with you, spraying on a little whenever you are out or may be meeting people. Increase the power of the magic by repeating the invocation as you put on the scent!

Try this Cajun Love Spell only if you really want to steam up your love life.
Women:
Use a white linen handkerchief with lace trim or embroidery.
Men:
Use a plain, white cotton handkerchief.
To begin, wash the handkerchief in sea-salted water. Rinse thoroughly, and iron with starch while it is still slightly damp. THe handkerchief should be fairly stiff.
Next, jog in place to work up a good sweat, then fold the handkerchief diagonally one time. Fold the triangle in three, and pull back the points to fashion a flower. Take the flower handkerchief and gently swab the sweat from your body, especially under your arms, where phermones are most strong.
Lightly spray the handkerchief with sandalwood perfume. When you next see your lover, use it to wipe his or her brow. Bury the handkerchief in the Earth during the next Full Moon.
You'll need a few large apples, cinnamon, yarrow, spring water, salt, and a enameled or cast-iron saucepan. These are often associated with love and passion.
If it is to your orientation, it is often helpful to bless or consecrate these components. Concentrate on your goal while preparing this potion:
Slice the apples place them into the saucepan, coat with cinnamon, and cover with yarrow. Put in enough water to submerge the contents and add a small sprinkling of salt. Stir clockwise on low heat, intoning a love charm of your own making.
Bring to a simmer for about 90 minutes, strain and place into a dark jar. Put a few drops into your favorite aftershave or cologne and wear it every 4 days. The magic stays after the scent fades.
Create or find a charred stick. That is, a stick of wood, one end of which has been burned until it's been reduced to charcoal. You'll also need a few dried rose petals and a piece of paper.
Using the charred part of the stick as you would a pencil, draw two interlinked hearts on the paper as you visualize yourself enjoying a satisfying relationship. Draw with power.
Hold the rose petals in your projective hand and send fiery, loving energies into them. Sprinkle the petals over the linked hearts. Do this with power.
Wrap the paper around the petals. Still visualizing throw the package into a fire. (Failing this, light it in the flame of a red candle and throw into a heat-proof container.) As it burns, the power is released.

To make a talisman to draw new love into your life you will need a Moon-drenched night, preferably during a Full Moon, and a needle and thread and some pink or red felt.
Sew the felt into a small pouch, and place items magically charged to draw love - love letters, your nail clippings, song lyrics, and love herbs such as vanilla, rue, myrtle, violet, rose, apricot, apple, yarrow, rosemary, thyme, meadowsweet, lemon, dragon's blood, clove, or dill. A rose or clear quartz crystal may also be added. Sew up the pouch while the light of the Moon washes over it and say:
"By my hands the spell is begun; love comes to me through what I have done."
Rededicate the talisman at each Full Moon and carry it with you until you find the love you seek.
Take 3 grams orange flowers, 2 grams true lavender, 1 gram rose petals, 1 gram jasmine, 1 gram ginger and grind them coarsely in a mortar. Use a small piece of cheese cloth to put the herbs into and run a hot bath placing the sachet in the running water. Once drawn, soak in this pre-ritual bath with the sachet in the water and just relax and clear you mind.
Love wine - simmer or stew (leave in pot cold for 3 days) 2 cups red wine, 2 tsp rhubarb juice (which you can make yourself), 3 tsp Cinnamon, 2tsp Ginger, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 2 cloves scored. Also add one one-inch piece of vanilla bean available from cookery shops scored along it's length. Simmer for 1 hour or leave for 3 days and serve!)
In the ritual, have 3 candles - one white, one red and one yellow - on the altar. Your source candle should be white and new (not previously used in ritual) and lit well before the ritual. Have your charcoal on a bed of sea salt scented with flower scents if possible. Have all you ingredients and love wine ready.
Cast the circle using the "In love and light I cast the circle round. May all within be safe and all ill intentions be only without. So mote it be." chant.
Put the Love incense (2 parts sandalwood, 1/2 part basil, 1/2 part bergamot, small amount of rose petals, a few lavender flowers, and a few drops of those essential oils) on the charcoal and censor the circle and return it to the altar.
Now, place the chalice with the love wine in the triangle of the 3 candles and then light them using a beeswax taper while visualizing someone coming towards you. See them coming towards you with their arm outstretched towards you.
Now, crush the herbs for the love sachet first - 3 parts rose petals, 2 parts orange flowers, 1 part jasmine flowers, 1 part gardenia flowers - in a mortar using a pestle. While crushing, focus on your goal. Next, tie the herbs up in a piece of pink cloth. This should be worn to attract a love.
Next, create the love powder to sprinkle on bedsheets and around bedroom. Finely crush 3 parts yarrow, 3 parts lavender, 2 parts rose petals and 1 part ginger. While crushing visualize that figure coming towards you again. Please try not to focus on any one particular person as this limits the scope of the spell.
Now to finish, take the chalice with the wine, the sachet and the powder and pass them all through the smoke of the love incense. If this has finished, ad a bit more. Drink the wine while chanting in your mind
"Magic wheel draw to my house the one for me to love."
Close the circle and extinguish the candles. Sprinkle the powder, wear the charm and love will come your way!

Take the candle and place it on a table or your altar. Now take the olive oil and rub on to the candle starting in the middle and going up, then starting in the middle going down. While purifying the candle with the oil you want to recharge the candle with love and desire, so visualize love and channel all your emotion into the candle.
After the oil is finished, take a knife and carve what it is you want into the candle.
To draw a passionate love your way, during a waxing Moon gather two taper candles, one pink and one red, and some red thread and jasmine oil. Anoint the candles with jasmine oil using your fingertips, then light them while visualizing the flames of passion growing between yourself and a new, but yet unknown, love. Link the candles together by making a figure eight between them with the thread while repeating:
"Flames of passion and seeds of romance grow;
I open my heart to love. Now the one who seeks me shall come."
For best results, enact the spell on three consecutive nights.
Light a candle (I tend to use a blessed white tea candle) and place it by the window sill at night. Say: "This is you calling out to your love.""

What you need:
Place the magenta candle in the cauldron. Light the pink candles and place them on either side. When ready, tap the Cauldron 3 times and say:
"One to seek,
one to find him/her.
One to bring him/her,
one to bind him/her.
Heart to heart, forever one,
So say I, this spell is done."
Tap the Cauldron 3 more times and light the magenta candle to send the spell on its way.
Preparation:
Create oil consisting of one-eighth cup of unscented oil, mixed with enough rose geranium and lavender to create a pleasant scent. Blend these in a clear glass jar. Empower the oil to the cause of finding love, and then rub well into a pink candle.
The Spell:
To empower the oil, focus on the jar, and think of the feelings of love. Contentment, commitment, joy, etc. Allow this love energy to flow into the oil.
At a quiet moment, when you know you will be around long enough for the candle to burn fully, say the following prayer and light the candle.
" Oh Lady who loves us, oh Lord who loves us well,
Please bring my true love to me, the one of whom my dreams do tell.
Bright Lady of the heavens, Strong Lord of the earth,
Please aid me in finding this love. Let this harm none, let none be
coerced,
Thank you. "
Note: This spell is not intended to be used on someone. It is a general spell to be sent out to the universe, so you can find your mate. It will not make someone love you.
You will need:
Walk about one block from your home and drop one rose. Begin to walk back to your home and drop three more roses along the way. Drop the fifth rose at your door. During this entire act, chant:
"This is a path of Love.
My true love will find me."
But don't just repeat empty words. You must put all of your will and desire to find love into your words. Concentrate on what you are saying and let yourself be filled with the feelings of love that you have to offer someone.

To strengthen a relationship, during the Moons first or second phase place a dish containing potting soil on a table. With your finger, trace the shape of a heart in the soil and sprinkle rose water around the dish. Then, light two pink candles, one on each side of the dish, and say:
" With the hand of fate and the stars above,
I light these candles in the name of love.
One is for you, one is for me,
Together, forever, we will be,
Sharing a love which keeps us fulfilled,
According our own free wills."
Extinguish the candles and sprinkle the soil outdoors. Your love is now grounded.
Mix all ingredients in non-metal container. Use to dress candles. Store oil in air tight container.
As you annoint a red candle say:
"Blessed be and merry meet

Now light the candle saying:

Rather than focusing on drawing love into your life, this spell focuses on removing the lonely longing we all experience when we are not part of a special twosome.
For this simple magic you will need:
The picture you choose does not have to be anything special; in fact, it works better if it is something you cut from a magazine that can be viewed as an overall concept of your goal, rather than as a concrete image.
Fill two of the chalices about half-full with water and set them on opposite ends of your altar. These will represent yourself and the person who will soon come into your life as being apart, each feeling like only "half" of something you have yet to discover.
Set the empty chalice in the center of the alter. Put the oil, picture, etc., wherever it is convenient for you to place them. Perfuming the air with your oil by using it to anoint a working candle (one lit to offer you light to see by) can also add to the atmosphere. If you choose to do this, make sure you visualize your goal and project it into the candle as you work. Light it as soon as you have cast your circle, so that it can function as your working light. Say:
""Candle red (or silver or pink) as love light bright,
Carry my prayers to the God & Goddess tonight.""
Begin, as always, by slowing your mind and focusing inward until the visualization of loneliness ending comes clearly to you.
Form a picture of yourself as you are now...alone...and allow yourself to build up a complete hatred and intolerance for this state of being.
Pour all of that deeply-felt emotion into the mental image and then, with a burst of will, force that image far, far away from you. See it flying out into the vast darkness of the universe, exploding, and being harmlessly absorbed in the endless vacuum of space.
Now focus your attention on the center chalice, which is empty. See it as unused potential waiting to be filled by you. Invest the empty cup with all of your hopes and dreams of romance, companionship, love, and loyalty.
If you are female, the chalice on the left will represent you; if male, the one the right is yours. These are the traditional directional attributes of the feminine and the masculine in many cultures. Lift the chalice that represents you, and then the other, holding them both out to your sides as far away from each other as possible.
Feel your need pouring into yours, and the need of someone yet unknown to you filling the other. Look into the depths of the empty chalice and feel the aching loneliness inside you melting away as the cup fills with loving potential, representing unity and wholeness, aching to be used. While still focusing on the empty vessel, bring the two cups to your breast and sense the energy you have invested in them straining to come together.
Pour as much energy as you can into this image and then, when you feel the time is right, pour the contents of the of the two chalices into the empty center one.
Sense the happiness and relief of the two halves of the whole which are now united. Seal the magical union with a single drop of the oil you have chosen. As it mingles with the energy of the joined waters, intone words that affirm the success of your spell:
""Separated at birth, full circle come,
Two halves of wholeness are joined as one.
With harm to none, leaving all choice free,
By my will, So Mote It Be!""
Lastly, take the picture and hold it over the chalice, allowing the joyful energy within to be transferred to the picture. Project your likeness, and that the one you have drawn into your life, onto the image. When you have invested as much energy as you can, place a single drop of the water, and another of the oil, on the picture, fold it tightly, and carry it with you until the moon phase changes. At that point it should be burned.
If you feel the need, repeat the spell on the next full moon.
Find a stone or crystal that you feel very comfortable with. For three days and nights, keep it on your person and whenever you touch it, think into the stone:
"By the Lady and her mate,
I wish to alter my fate."
Once the three day period has passed, make sure you have on hand some broom, cedar, elder, and/or hazel. Take a piece of silk or cotton and write on it or on a piece of paper sandwiched in between the cloth and sewn together the spell you wish to perform.
Use the rock or crystal or grind up the herbs/flowers/twigs into a rough mixture while concentrating on the spell. Take that mixture and put it in the cloth and use a piece of silk thread or cotton thread to sew/tie it closed keeping the stone out. Now, place the pouch where it will be most effective for the spell (if you want protection, over a door or window; money, by a mirror or over a window; love, by a window or your head when you sleep at night) and take the crystal and cleanse it in salt water and sun so it may be used again.
This is best done the three days of the full or new moon so as to get the full potential into your spell. The new moon at Samhain means any spells cast during this period will be especially effective.
Here´s a quick love spell to create ”good vibrations” for you!
Ingredients:
Light your incense and candle. Place the rose in a container or vase next to the rose quartz. Meditating on the candle flame, picture yourself happy and ready to receive love into your life. Breath the scent of the incense and flower - remember the aroma. Then, take the rose quartz in your ”power hand” (the one you write with, your dominant hand) and ”push” these good feelings and sensations into the stone. Carry the quartz with you to maintain the spell - the love surrounding you should attract love to you!

Supplies: Two pink taper candles, a picture of yourself, and a red heart cut out of construction paper.
Angels to call: Hahaiah, who inspires positive and loving thoughts, or Anael who is in charge of love, passion, and romance, Hael who inspires art, kindness, mercy, and beauty, or Muir who will find you a loyal friend (or heal a broken friendship), or you may perform a chant of angelic names such as: Raphael, Rahmiel, Thelliel, Donquel, Anael, Liwet, Mihr.
Begin by working at your angel altar. Cleanse, consecrate and empower the pink candles. On the back of the heart write what you desire. warning: Do not call a specific person. That is against free will and the angels will not help you. Instead, call loving thoughts toward you-friendship, companionship, etc. Please be specific. Ground and center.
In a ritual you have designed by yourself, call your Guardian Angel/Spirit Guide and invoke both divinity and the angel you have chosen to help you. Be honest and forthright. Don't ask for what you really don't want. Be clear and operate only in harmony with the Universe.
Set the two pink candles about one foot apart with your picture in the middle, between the two candles. Place the heart on top of your picture. Light the candles and allow them to burn for five minutes. Move the two candles a little closer, then put them out. Thank Divinity and the angels/spirit guides for helping you.
The next evening at the same time, repeat this procedure, and every night thereafter for 7 nights. On the 7th night, make sure both candle holders are touching the picture and the heart. Let the candles burn until there is nothing left. Take the heart and your picture (keeping them together), and put them in a safe place. When what you have called comes to you, be sure to go back to your altar and thank both Divinity and the angels for your good fortune. You may keep the heart and picture together as long as you like.

This spell helps you open the emotional doors to admit a new person. To begin, go outdoors under a full moon, & light a white or pick candle. Gaze at the moon, saying:

The Gypsies say that to find anything red means luck in love. If you find a piece of red thread, red wool, a red button, or whatever, pick it up and carry it with you for luck. It serves as an amulet. As you stoop to pick it up, think of the person you love and say:
Red is my blood
And red is my heart.
Lucky in love;
Never keep us apart.
BEST TIME: Waxing Moon
The cauldron should be on your altar between 2 pink candles. Inside the cauldron itself, place a magenta candle. Light a love incense and the Pink candles. Tap the cauldron three times with your wand. Say:
One to seek him, one to find him.
One to bring him, one to bind him.
Heart to heart, Forever one
So say I, this spell is done."
Tap the cauldron three more times. Light the magenta candle to speed the spell on its way.

If you are not open to love, no love spell can work. You may want to do this spell as preparation for any other love spell you do. In fact, this spell to make yourself open to love might be the only love spell you will ever need. Look inside yourself: is there something in you that blocks love? For instance, do you feel you don't deserve love? Or perhaps you think that no one could ever love YOU? Or maybe you think you are too fat, or too thin? Maybe you are afraid to ask someone out on a date? Whatever the negative belief, fear or other internal block is, get in touch with it, then use soap and water to wash it away. Actually put your hands in water and wash them as a way to get rid of your block to love!
If you feel the need to do more than the above spell get five red roses. Go about a block from your house and drop one rose. Drop three more on the way back home. Drip the fifth at your door. While you do all this chant out loud or silently:
"This is a path of love.
My true love will find me.
You have given your true love a path by which to find you!
Maybe this is more your style. Wear a peacock feather or some emblem of the peacock. For instance, cut off the decorative end of a peacock feather and pin it to your lapel instead of a rose, or wear earrings shaped like peacocks. Look in the mirror and repeat as many times as you want:
"I am spreading my tail feathers."
Leave the house and see what happens. This is NOT a spell to make anyone see you the way you want them to see you. This is like a peacock spreading his tail to court, but on a psychic level.
Many people want to have a relationship with the person who is just right for them. I was once asked "How can I make my mate the ideal mate for me?"
ARGH!!!!!! Why do people feel that once they have mated, their job is to change the beloved? However, if you are not sure whether you and your mate are meant for each other, and you are willing to forfeit the relationship should this not be the case, do this love spell. Take two silver dollars. Two pennies will also do. Toss them into the air reciting:
"May we each go to our own true love."
I repeat, do not do this spell unless you only want to be with a true love and so are willing to forfeit your present relationship should it not represent your true love. Sometimes a relationship isn't "THE ONE" but it is sacred for its own sake and worth keeping. Also, a true love isn't necessarily a mate for love while the person you are with now just might be. Should the coins land far apart, do not take this as a sign that you will separate. This is not meant as a divination spell.

Cast the circle, call the quarters, the usual... Dim the lights, leave a candle burning if you wish. Take the pink candle and anoint it with the musk oil while thinking of the intended. Scratch the name of the person on one side of the candle with the pin and the word love on the other. Place the pink cloth in the plate with the "just a little nudge" facing down. Light the candle and affix the cloth to the plate by letting hot wax drip on the corners of the cloth.
While visualizing your desire, use the wax drippings to form the shape of a heart in the middle of the cloth. Drip some wax in the centre of it and place the candle there. With the candle burning, empower a pinch of marjoram by pinching it tightly between your fingers and feeling energy flowing into it. Sprinkle the marjoram on the place touching the heart and candle. Let the candle burn down.
Crinkle the hard pool of wax as much as you can while thinking of your desire. Take the remains of wax, marjoram and the cloth and put them in the small pink or red pouch Sleep with the pouch under your pillow and by using dream direction, allow yourself to dream of the intended (even if in the morning you don't remember the dream, don't fret, you probably dreamed of the person) Sleep like this for as long as needed until the day comes when you are going to meet the person.
Then, take the pouch with you. When you see that person, wait until the time is right. Close your eyes and touch the pouch. Feel it's power. Open your eyes and glance straight at the intended. So mote it be!
The use of a penny in this spell may need some explanation. Older pennies are made from copper, and copper is the metal of planet Venus and of the element of Water, both loving energies. That's why a penny is used here.
To smooth the path of a rocky relationship. Visualize you and your mate enjoying happy times, giving full attention to your love. Pour this energy into the penny that you hold in your projective hand. Then toss the penny over your right shoulder into a well while saying:
"Coin of the realm,
metal of Venus,
Ensure that naught will
Come between us.
Strengthen our love
This magical day,
This is our will
And this is our way."
Note: This will be affective only when both parties are attempting to improve the relationship.

What you will do
Light the candle. If using oil then anoint the candle base with a few drops of that first. Cut the string or cord into two three-inch halves. This spell is bested begun when the moon is waxing, but if you cannot wait that long go ahead and do it. Take a photo of your lover and a photo of yourself. Using a paper clip, hook the photos together so that the faces are on top of each other. The idea is that the person cannot see past your face.
