Xelloss is the general-priest of Juu-ou "Greater Beast" Xelas Metallium, one of the 5 Dark Leaders of Ruby Eye Shabranigudo. Usually, a Dark Leader would divide its power to a general and a priest, but in Xelas' case (either she got lazy or not or she likes it that way...), she just gave both rights & powers to Xelloss, making him stronger than Sherra, Larshalt, Grau or any other minion there is. For example, Sherra would confront Xelloss, to be able to get rid of the fact that he can always kill her in one blow, she needs Grau, Grou & Nost to be with her. Get the point? Why? So that when those 4 would combine their strengths, powers and abilities, it would be equal to Xelloss and the fight would be fair...(even though a mazoku might sometimes have a tendency to fight with cheats...if you know what I mean...).

He does not really say much about himself, and you'd often hear him answer Sore wa himitsu desu (translation: that is a secret!) to most questions asked which could involve confidential information or whatever. Being his friend is not that easy, because he would always tend to trick you...that is why he is also known as The Trickster Priest. At first, he introduced himself as a priest of some sort of shrine and that he is looking for the lost copy of the Claire Bible, but then his true identity was finally revealed when Gaav attempted to ruin him.

You would not actually rely to his information about certain things because he would only lead you to trouble. He'd often leave clues and then amazingly, almost all are being done accordingly without Lina & others knowing it. He also carries a staff with him that has a big red gem attached on top of it.
He prefers to follow people around secretly (mostly hidden in the shadows). When you are in trouble, expect him to disappear, especially when you need him... but when you don't need him, he's always there. ^^
Well, remember that mazoku would often seek destruction? They came from destruction and to destruction, they will return (that has some kind of symbolism. Try to figure that out, you bozos...). It is really natural for a mazoku to look for hurt & pain on the others and to feel it too. He doesn't care about the feelings of others...as Filia would say, he is really greedy.
As Xelas' General-Priest, he is very obedient and he respects her very much. He happens to also be her son. Xellos wouldn't dare disrespect or disobey her or she'll really punish him real bad. Xelas is a very secretive girl, and the same goes with Xelloss.
Whenever he is injured or harmed by someone, he can regenerate... he's can also repel some magical attacks.
The 4 Talismans were given to him by Lei Magnus during the Kouma Senso (am I correct?) and he agreed to sell it to Lina for 5.5 million bucks. During the Kouma Senso, he had managed to kill over a thousand dragons single-handed... @o@
Xelas & Xelloss Xelloss in the novels, compared to the anime itself, is more morbid and violent. He would not hesitate to kill or ruin anyone who gets in his way.
Xelloss would often keep his eyes shut... hey, maybe for the mere reason that the eyes can be the windows to the soul, and he doesn't want anyone to know him completely...get the point? ...you know, hide all the evil behind the smile??? ^.^
