Merchandize
This is just stuff with Jeddy. For the really obsessed, I suppose ^_^
Most items here can be found at any online store which caters anime items.
Trading Stickers | Novel: Eternal Sleep | RPG: Sailor Moon Game Book | RPG: Dark Warrior | Book: Friends and Foes | Card Deck | Game: Button Men

Waaaiiiii!! *takes deep breaths*
Okay, this might not be the most impressive piece of merchandize in existance (just look at all the junk out for Chibiusa, for instance) But! these trading cards are the only pieces of genuine japanese Jeddy-merchandize I own.
Best of all, I got them for free... *ducks for random objects that come flying* Hey, lemme explain, and then you can kill me, okay?
Your usual comic store, with magazines, stuff, some rarities and loads of junk. Like the box with the odd trading cards... so while waiting to pay my other stuff, I went through them, and who do I find? Bingo ^_^

Very nice man behind the counter meant I could just take them, since no one wants them anyway (sometimes it's good to like the less popular characters)
So, if you're ever going to Berlin, write me a line and I'll give you the address of the store ^_~
The sense with these stickers is pretty self-explanatory; buy, collect, trade, buy more.
Jadeite is on cards 6 and 9. Card 5 portrays Queen Beryl, and number 13 and 17 youma. Anyone's guess what's on the other cards... This is how the
backside looks like anyway.
There is a novel series based on the Sailor Moon anime, and book number five, Eternal
Sleep, tells the story of Jadeite's downfall as well as introducing Nephrite. The book
consists of 12 chapters and was written by
Lianne Sentar, based
on the NA dub of Sailor Moon. ISBN 1-892213-33-8, in case you're interested in buying.
The books are written in an easy language, no images, and while they tell the same main
story as the anime several details are changed. Some, like the small insights inside the
characters heads, are for the better but most take away from the depth of the story, or
are just unnecessary adjustments that neither gives nor takes. The occasional minor plot
details, like how the *bleep* Tuxedo Kamen survived the fight in the water are better
explained as well.

I didn't very much like how they portrayed Jadeite here, even if he didn't far as badly as Zoisite; and I'm not only talking gender.
The first general is a lot less cool and composed (but this might be since the book is
based on the NA dub), and doesn't get nearly good enough replies to the Sailor scouts
taunts ^_~ His actions and magics are also slightly different, making the fights a bit
more brutal and less stiff then in the anime, which I personally think is pretty okay.
The fact that, according to the book, Sailor Moon beat Jadeite with her hate, after he'd
"killed" Tuxedo Kamen, infuriates me. It's like, duh, she's the soldier of
sanctity, she
doesn't hate people, that's what it's all about!
Then a last thing, which really made me tick... Jadeite's return to the Dark Kingdom (ok,
ok, Negaverse). He doesn't teleport back and attempts to stand and salute, as in the
anime. Instead he falls to the floor, and begs Beryl to spare him. That he knew the
identities of the Sailor warriors isn't mentioned at all (justifying Beryl's judgement,
actually), he just begs pathetically and ends by throwing himself on the floor before she
turns him into an ice-cube. Yuck.
No matter what, the original Jadeite retained a sense of style. When he was forced to
flee, he could at least return with important information and try to explain this.
Of course, his queen didn't listen, but that's another story.
And to end this review (some would say rant, but let's be nice) some small comments by
Nephrite and Zoisite about Jadeite, which definitely don't come from anything close to the
original anime:
Nephlite reached out and laid one gloved hand on
the holographic map. "Jedite was a fool," Nephlite said. "He never grasped
the idea that draining energy from a crowd attracts a lot of unwanted attention."
"Aww. Poor Jedite." Zoicyte shrugged and grinned. "Can't say I'll miss him.
The little brat always was Beryl's pet."
Oh, so that's why she allows Nephrite to tell her to mind her own business, but doesn't
even hear Jadeite out before freezing him? And it must be for the same reason that Kunzite
is the highest ranking general?
So, my advice about these books are: Don't buy, unless you're as obsessed as me, and in
that case you should spend your money on professional help anyway.
This is probably one of the best Sailor Moon guides you can buy, even if you're not into
RPG at all! Containing 200 pages of information, pictures, episode and season summaries,
mythological info, seiy names, link tips, glossary and everything else you could wish
for, it's well worth the money.
Jadeite (and the other enemies) all have a page each, as well as a color image. Notes
about them are sprinkled through the book, and their minerals are listed with a short
description. Powers and weaknesses of the playable characters are based on the original
anime, making the Dark Warrior subsection under 'create a character' interesting to read.
While this is a book intended for the English audience, they have much information about
the Japanese version as well.
One of the pre-made scenarios is based Jadeite waking up in Crystal Tokyo, and how the
Senshi must stop his attempt to poison the water.
Because I really, really like this book, I've copied Jadeite's
character
page for your enjoyment. This is for private enjoyment only, so don't take anything
from that page! (buy the book instead) This book is also recommended for fanfic authors,
since it contains so much info.
Way cool! This company to the 'SM RPG and Resource Book' is a journal for the enemy
characters, called Dark Warriors here. It has character sheets, and place for game notes,
and some pictures.
I'm gonna buy this book as soon I get enough money, and then I can give more info. To see
the
cover, follow the link please.
There is also something called the "Complete Book of Youma" which gives
information about the monsters-of-the-day in the first three seasons, but I don't know
much about it.
A guide to the characters of the first season, this is a easy to read book with lots of
pictures.
I get the impression it's not exactly in-depth information, but it would look pretty on
the shelf, ne?
I've found two nice Sailor Moon decks at home, with images of the first and second season
characters.
Sadly, they have the same image of Jadeite on both decks, but at least not on the same
card.
In the first deck he is the
jack of spades, and along with Beryl
and the other Shitennou represents
jester.
The second deck shows him as the king of spades (he got a promotion!) and the image that
was on the jester before is now on the king of cloves.
These deck were made by DiC, but I know about at least two more. Unfortunately, I haven't
got the slightest if they have Jadeite on one of the cards or not.
An fun detail is that Kunzite (Malachite) is on the queen of spades in the first deck. And
Beryl is the king ^.^;;
Thanks to Jeff Stoncious, who explained what this is!
'Button men' is apparently something you wear, like a brooch, and then you act out the
person on the button. These things also come with some kind of stats, showing combat
powers and so on. Two players fight each other, and if they have several sets you aren't
limited to Jadeite vs. Mars.
There are 5 more button pairing Jupiter/Nephrite, Mercury/Zoisite, Venus/Kunzite,
Tuxedo/one of the seven devils and Moon/Beryl. Quite fitting, ne?
I still haven't got the grasp of this thing perfectly, so if I've made a mistake in
describing the game, please tell me.
Do you know of other merchandize with Jadeite? It can be anything from wallscrolls to
keychains, as long as he's on it somewhere. If you do, I would be overjoyed if you could
send a mail to dancing_moon@hotmail.com and
tell me where to find the item in question.
