My reason to make a shrine to Jadeite? Simple, I love the guy! Seriously, I think he's a great character ^_^ And he's sooooo gorgeous *drools* Ehehe... sorry, I go a bit overboard sometimes.
Okay, why I am obsessed with J-chan:
He's evil (always a plus in my book) and cruel and sadistic and gorgeous and cold and a real bastard and murderous... did I mention he's evil? And the best thing is, he stays evil all the time! No 'falling in love and joining the good guys', he didn't even have a partner among the bad guys.
And his voice, yum, that's almost enough to make me love him all by itself.
Another reason for my obsession might be that the first I ever saw of Sailor Moon was the end of that fateful episode 13, and I fell for both the show and the character completely.
I know that Nephrite's death scene is probably one of the more tear-jerking villain deaths out there and Zoisite's, whoa, that one was beautiful. When Kunzite died it was made special by his last words, more so since he is normally so cold.
But Jadeite... He returned to what he knew was almost certain death.
Giving everything in a last effort, he failed, but still believed that he was important enough that Beryl would hear him out. I think that the horror on his face when he realized she wouldn't came almost as much from the treat of Eternal Sleep as the fact that he meant less then nothing to his Queen, once she couldn't use him as a tool anymore.
Someone said that 'Hell is other people'. I say, you can only believe this if you have never been truly alone. Think about it. Unable to use your senses, unable to move and most of all, utterly, completely alone... for ever. Madness is no longer an option, it might be a sanctuary. Of all the way to end life, an eternity in a crystal floating in endless darkness must be one of the most cruel.
Jadeite is also one of the most underdeveloped characters in Sailor Moon, and I'm so sick and tired of people describing him as either a bore or an moron in their fics and profiles. And in a world where Sailor Moon shrines comes in multi-pack, it feels a little unnecessary to create yet another Kunzite/Zoisite site (not that I don't love this gorgeous couple).
And lastly, as Jadeite no Miko I felt it was my duty ^_^
