We Love as One – Interlude
Disclaimer in Index
I must admit that it feels rather strangely to have and feel another presence within me. Although I knew what I was getting into, still the reality of it is much different than I had thought it would be. Overall, though it is at times disorienting, on the whole, I find this fascinating and comforting.
What I find most interesting is that I can recall images, conversations, and faces of people I’ve never met and feel as if the other Tok’ra here, most of whom I have yet to meet, are already long-time friends of mine.
<Elias, please stop analyzing everything.> Lantash says to me exasperated. <I am not exasperated. It is merely tiring to hear you talk of our blending in such a fashion, as one would talk about a scientific experiment like Anise.>
I grin lightly. Anise is definitely not among Lantash’s favorite people. I can hardly wait to meet her.
<Take that back.>
I laugh. It’s incredibly nice and refreshing to have someone always there to banter and talk with.
<You say that now, wait until we disagree about something. We will never be able to get away from each other.>
There are so many things I have yet to learn and experience, but I’m excited and happy to try. I have only been with the Tok’ra since early this morning, but already I have been assigned to a mission. I am to accompany Jacob Carter, host to Selmac, one of the oldest and wisest of the Tok’ra along with Korra and Malek to the Tau’ri.
As I review this information and recall the short briefing I got, I head to the meeting chamber where I am to meet them. I frown slightly as I sense something from Lantash.
(Lantash, why are you feeling anxious about visiting the Tau’ri?) I ask.
<It is nothing, Elias.> Lantash attempts to evade my question, but I get a glimpse of a woman with short shining blonde hair, sky-blue eyes, and a dazzling smile.
(She is beautiful, Lantash, very beautiful. Who is she?) I ask curiously. I get no response from Lantash and I sigh. (Lantash…who is she?)
I can feel his hesitation before he answers me. <Her name is Samantha Carter. She is Tau’ri and part of the team SG-1, the ones we are to rendezvous with. For a short period of time, she was host to the mate of both my former host and I. As a result, she and my former host became close.>
(You still have feelings for her.) I ask quietly, ‘rummaging’ through the memories of Lantash for another glimpse of this Samantha.
<Yes, I do. Though my circumstances are different now and Martouf is gone, I still care for her a great deal and as such, am nervous about meeting her since our last unfortunate encounter.> Lantash replied anxiously.
I cock my head as I make an observation. (You are in love with her.) I am surprised; there is still much for me to learn and learning about Samantha Carter is a good place to start. Already, she has intrigued me and I look forward to meeting her. Another thought occurs to me. (Carter…is that not the name of Jacob as well?)
<Yes, Samantha is Jacob’s daughter. She was the one who brought Jacob to us.> Lantash answered.
I nod my head in understanding, slightly overwhelmed by the feeling that Lantash has toward this Samantha. Of course, if she is as beautiful, kind, and caring as Lantash describes her, who wouldn’t feel such love for her? I am looking forward to our meeting and hurry to my destination.
