In Their Own Words -Crossing the Line

Harm    Mac    AJ    Bud    Harriet    Skates    Captain Boone

Rear Admiral A.J. Chegwidden

By Pat Steiner (ssbpmn@aol.com)

Wonderful start to the day. A call to the sexual harassment hotline last night and the case passed to me. And this before shower and coffee.

Then I had to deal with the Mackenzie-Rabb comedy act as I passed the assignment to them. I'm pleased at their getting along so well. It reaffirms that I made a good choice when I partnered them, but at times that routine that passes between them can be wearying. Not to mention, when I think of them getting along so well, it reminds me of the complications I foresee down the road should 'getting along' turn to something more.

I'm also concerned about assigning Commander Rabb here with Captain Boone being the subject of the inquiry. He looked pretty distressed at the thought of possibly having to make a negative report on a man who was important to his father.

On the other hand, I have confidence Major MacKenzie will keep him in line and keep the investigation honest.

I am attempting to get Admiral Drake to reconsider his directive concerning Lieutenant Isaaks and her return to flight status. I would like our investigation to be more complete before she is reinstated. It's a night mission and I'm not sure having her go up is a good idea. I'll have to pray that Rabb and Mackenzie can keep an eye on the situation.

Apparently all's well that ends well. Of course I never get the word until after the fact. Hell, I'm only the Judge Advocate General!
