When I Said I Do
By: Psycho Girl
Hold it, hold it, hold it! Before we start anything here (This is Echo btw) is this another one of your tear jerker stories Psycho?! *stares suspiciously and then slaps herself* Why am I even bothering asking you? I've read it already!! Okay, on with the story.
Psycho sat back in her chair. This was her wedding day. After everything they had been through, it was hard to believe they were actually still alive to get married. She should be happy, she should be insanely happy. Yet something was missing. She knew what it was, she just didn't want to admit it. If only Brian hadn't brought up her parents.
As a child her mother had told her how they would plan her wedding together. Of course, her mom had meant for her to marry from a rich, important family. Kris knew her parents wouldn't approve. They wanted only the best for their little angel. If only she could be sure they wouldn't cause trouble, she really wanted them there. Her thoughts were interrupted by Echo and Jack. "Psycho, come on! Brian can't see you before the wedding. It's bad luck."
Jack grinned adn added, "And you've both had enough of that."
"You guys, that's stupid." Smiling fondly at her friends, she remembers how she had almost ruined their future.
Seeing sadness in Psycho's face Echo gave her a concerned glance. "Kristan? What are ya thinkin' about?"
"How I almost ruined you and Jack's relationship."
Jack hugged his friend, "That wasn't your fault, I was wrong. You should try to forget that."
"How can I forget it? Everytime I see that scar on Brian's face, I remember how I almost killed him."
Echo shook her head, "Red did that, not you."
"Why does he love me, why are you my friend? I mean, I shot Spot." (Psycho Hey I rhymed) (Echo: Yeah, ain't it great?! *About shooting Rover or Psycho rhyming, you decide... maybe both*) She raised her hand to keep Echo & Cowboy from objecting. "You have no reason to care what happens to me. Maybe I belond with someone like Red. I don't deserve Brian. I don't deserve friends like you. And I don't deserve to get married to the man of my dreams. I can't believe everyone is actually for my marrying Brian, I'm not..."
"Psycho stop. So you've made bad decisoins. We all have. Me and Echo breaking up wasn't your fault. I made the wrong decision. Red doesn't deserve his fleas, he diffinately doesn't deserve you. Brian loves you, you love Brian. Love is never easy. Life is never easy. You beat it all, don't give up now."
"He's right Kris."
"I know. I guess I'm just scared."
"Don't be, nothing's gonna happen. You're gonna get married and live happily ever after."
Kris smiled, 'I hope so.' she thought.

Brian stood up by the preacher, watching Spot, Brooklyn, Blink, Shadow, Ice, and Mush talk. Jack was to be his best man, and Echo was Psycho's maid of honor. He was so nervous he was shaking.
The music started and Jack joined him. Echo walked out tossing flower petals around (Echo: hehe). Behind her was Psycho, a nervous, happy smile on her face. He barely heard the cerimony, he answered at the right places. Then it was time to kiss his bride. Their lips were about to meet when the door flew open.
Kristan gasped when she saw Red and the rest of the Boury walk in.
"I object." the smug look on his fae made Kristan wanna throw up.
"Get out of here Red, you're not wanted." Jack glared at Red. (Echo: Yeah, and they're past that part anyway you moron! Geez...)
"You're too late anyway you jerk." Brian said with a grin. "Til death do we part, we're married."
"Aw, but Kris, what will you're mommy and daddy think."
On cue her parents walked in. "Kristan Phillips, what are you doing?"
"It's not something I'm doing, it's something I've done."
"How could you do this?"
"Do what? Marry the man I love? Oh, I don't know. Hum..." Krista glared daggers at her father. "Why don't you go home. I'm busy." she stood on tip-toe and pressed her lips to Brian's. Before Jack or anyone else could stop him, Red ran up and grabbed Krista's arm and tossed her aside. Throwing Brian to the ground, he started throwing punches.
Psycho struggled to her feet and attacked Red. Yanking him to his feet, she knocked him out with one hit. "Asshole."
Brian sat up, "Thanks."
"Welcome," she smiled, "Now where were we?"
"Somewhere around here I think." As they kissed, they heard Jack tell a kid from the Boury to get Red out of Manhattan.

The next day Kris woke up in Brian's arms to the sound of someone pounding on the door. "Go away!" she snuggled up against Brian's shoulder.
"Kristan, open this door." her father's voice had always bugged her, but when it wakes you up after your honeymoon, it was completely annoying.
Brian woke up and yawned. "Who is it?" Not that he cared, pulling Psycho close he kissed her.
"Anthony Phillips, your wife's," his voice dripped venom, "father. Open this door!"
"Open it yourself you old wind-bad." Kristan laughed.
The door flew open, revealing her very angry father.
"Morning Daddy," Psycho chirped happily. He opened his mouth to yell at her. The sweet innocent look left her face. "Get out of my line of vision before I injure you."
"You can't talk to me like that, I'm..."
"Yeah, yeah, we know, her father."
"Now go."
"This isn't over Kristan."
"There's nothing you can do, and you know it!"
"You're disowned."
"Damn, you were disowned the moment I left your home, now kindly leave mine."
That was the last time she would ever see her parents. Strangly she wasn't as distressed about that as she thought she would be.

Red angrily paced the floor. "She's gonna pay. That little Bitch." he screamed out his term of endearment, "is gonna pay!"
"What are ya gonna do?" One of his boys asked.
"Til death do they part, that can be arranged."

The next day Brian walked down the street humming to himself. He had completely enjoyed his honeymoon. He wished his wife was with him, but she was with her friends, probably getting the same jokes he had gotten when he'd seen them that morning. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't see the figure lurking in the alley or Kris, Jack, Echo, and Blink on the other side of the street.
He was startled into reality when someone grabbed him, "So Brian, you thought you'd get Psycho and I'd just let you have her." Red slammed him into the wall.
______ ______ ______ ______ ______
"Brian!" Kris saw someone yank him into the alley. The same alley she had almost killed herself in, the same one she'd shot Spot in. Breaking into a run, she ran into the alley. Brian was lying in a heap, Kris couldn't tell is he was alive or not. Red stood over him, and 8 of his boys leaned against the far wall. "Red, you asshole! Get away from him." Jack, Echo, and Blink joined her. "Nine against one, you sissy! You chicken-shit bastard." Even in that horrible moment, Jack, Psycho, and Blink all looked at Echo in disbelief. (Echo: Did I say that? Wow... go me! No! Bad me! No.. ah, I don't know...) Red just laughed.
Looking at one another, Kris and her friends leaped into the fight. Kris was thrown to the side and Echo stopped in her tracks as Red pressed a knife to Jack's throat.
Shaking her head, Kris felt something cold touch her hand. She pulled the gun out from under a stack of trash and leveled it at Red's head. "Drop it, Red."
His boys gave her one look and ran back to their territory.
"You bitch, you don't have the guts."
"If I have the guts to shoot myself, I can certainly shoot you."
At that moment her friends all recognized the gun. It was the same one that she had used over a month ago to try to commit suicide.
"One... Two..." she pulled back the hammer. "Three."
The shot rang out, Jack fell to the ground. Red dropped with a yelp with a hole in his side. Kris dropped the gun. "Brian?" she touched his battered face.
"Kris?" his voice was weak and full of pain.
"Shhh... I'm here. Everything's okay."
Jack ran into Echo's arms and Blink ran to get the police.
Suddenly Echo gasped and another shot went off. Psycho spun around and saw Red fall to the ground, shot through the head by Jack. His knife dropped to the ground beside him.
Kris gave Jack a thankful glance as police and an ambulance showed up.

After answering the police's questions, and sitting in a hospital for five hours, the doctors came and told her Brian would be okay.
Kris felt relief flood through her. Brian was allowed to go home 3 days later. AS they sat alone, Psycho brought up what she had on her mind. "Brian? I'll understand if you don't want to stay married, I mean this is the second time I've almost gotten you beat to death. I'm bad luck."
With a frown, Brian turned ot his wife. "You really are Psycho ya know! When I said 'I do', I didn't mean for just that moment, or until things got tough. I meant forever. So like it or not, you're stuck with me."
A smile lit Kris's face, "Just checking."
"Hey Kris?"
"Hum."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"For how long?"
"Ya know, when I said 'I do..." she began in an obviously fake angry voice. She was interrupted by his lips meeting hers. "Just checking."
*Echo claps* Now, once again, Awwwwww. There, enough mushy stuff already. :)
