First off, we'll start with the ever popular thing known as writer's block. Although it is usually blamed on a lack of ideas in the author, it is mostly caused by a fairy taking a vacation to the Bahamas or a fairy strike. This is obviously the most common way fairies choose to annoy their authors; however, it is just a starting point.
After leaving your author with a nice long case of writer's block, come back and fill their head with inspiration. Wait, not just yet! You see, the inspiration must be something that annoys your particular fanfic author. Take mine for instance, she absolutely hates soap operas. So what do I do? Give her ideas to put Days of Our Lives to shake, of course! Other times I think of the character she hates more than anyone else, and give her an idea that will only work for that character. Naturally, these ideas are scoffed at and turned down, but after time passes and the author becomes bored because no other inspiration is available, he or she will grudgingly cave and begin writing the dreaded story. This can give a fairy hours of delight to watch your author squirm with disgust at the only ideas he/she can come up with.
Just opposite of the idea of writer's block, is to fill your author's head with too many ideas to keep up with! Wait until the author has at least ten stories and is feeling quite secure... and then suddenly cut off the supply of inspiration for all of the stories! Perhaps add a problem for each story once you do drizzle small amounts of inspiration into their little brains. Have one story with loads to write about, but not a single plotline. Have another story with too many plotlines to possibly decide on. Of course, there must always be a story the author feels will never get done because inspiration, if it comes at all, comes in infintesimally small amounts. Top it off with bad plots, stories than have an end and beginning but no middle, endings that the author despises, and allowing no inspiration at day but keeping the author up at all hours of the night (or during busy classes or any time there is a shortage of paper for that matter) with ideas. With persistance and hard work you will soon have a thoroughly annoyed author on your hands.
Warning!: While authors can't do a thing to you no matter how much you annoy them, characters can. Extended harrassment of a character may result in injury of the inspiration fairy. While your death may annoy your author effectively (you produce no ideas while you're dead), it is highly inconvenient to you. This idea is strongly discouraged to inspiration fairies that are not suicidal.
Dorcus Archibald Pooky Marian Saberhagen lives in a certain author's horribly insane, rotting brain with... himself. He is a lonely sad little creature but would like to add that this also means he is available. He enjoys annoying his author, taking long romantic walks on the beach, and drawing wonderful pictures while he should be working on story inspiration. Anyone that would like to contact him is welcome to e-mail him if I ever allow him to get an e-mail address.
Work Saberhagen is most proud of:
"Cowboy Take Me Away" -The wonderfully (and probably forever...)unfinished conclusion to the "Surf 'n' Turf Series"!
"The Surf 'n' Turf Series" -The soapiest piece of junk he has ever put in Echo's head! Full out secret relationships, lies, scandals, and boyfriend's coming back from the 'dead'! Still working on convincing Echo to add evil twins to complicate things, but failing so far.
"Old Friends" -Saberhagen's most proud attempt at annoyance. Not only did he get Echo, but he also got Brooklyn on this one! A fanfic that took the two girls from their 8th grade year to their Junior year to finish... and they never came up with a plot!
"No Man's Land" and "Rage of Angels" -Saberhagen's attempt to get to the author through torturing the characters. Some pain was inflicted on him by Flicker for his unfair torture of her, but he proclaims that, "It was worth it to get that funny look of disapproval from Echo!"
"The Blind Leadeth the Blind" -A Gundam Wing fanfic about Relena Peacecraft... one of Echo/Trini's most hated characters, rivaled only by Dorothy Catalonia. Pure genius on Saberhagen's part, a fanfic that not only has way to much of Relena in it, but that actually praises the w... er, girl!
Look for more annoyances to come from Saberhagen in the near future!...
Sidenote from Echo/Trini: Do you know what causes writer's block? A few things, boredom, lack of conviction, and bad inspiration fairies. You've seen Saberhagen's attitude, so now I have something to add. All the fanfiction on this website belong to their authors. If anyone other than the original author claims one of the stories for their own or plagerises you will be cursed and from now on you will be stuck with Saberhagen as your inspiration fairy while I get a nice fairy! Trust me, Saberhagen is one fairy you don't want to inspire you! He's a brat! Now that my point has been made...
Saberhagen: Some point! What's so wrong with me anyway? I'm not a curse!
Echo: *glares* You are too. You rotten little bad inspiration fairy.
Saberhagen: I'm an an-gel. YOU'RE the one that gave me that horrible name! I call THAT evil!
Echo: *shruggs* Payback... anyway, now that I have made my point, I shall go now. Carryin' da banner!
