Two Sources Make a Quote?

This little page is dedicated to the idea that plagerism isn't all that bad...
Now, in the few seconds I have before I'm arrested, here's the basics:
Baroness Austen and I (as well as you, if you send one in!) have taken quotes from "The Scarlet Pimpernel" (in any of its forms) and added to them a quote from another novel, movie, etc... I personally find it quite amusing. See what you think....

"Les Mourons Miserables" by Baroness Hugo

("The Scarlet Pimpernel" in normal font, "Les Miserables" in italics )

The face of Javert consisted of a snub nose, with two deep nostrils, which were bordered by large bushy whiskers that covered both his cheeks. A small head, large jaws, hair hiding the forehead and falling over the eyebrows, between the eyes a permanent central frown, a gloomy look, a mouth pinched and frightful, and an air of fierce command.

"So that's it, is it?" she said gaily. "La! Sir Andrew, did you ever see such an unpleasant person? I hope when I grow old I sha'n't look like that."

All at once, she had that indefinable impression which we feel, though we see nothing, when there is somebody standing behind us. She turned her head and arose.

It was he.

He appeared pale and thin. The twilight dimmed his fine forehead, and covered his eyes with darkness. It seemed as if he was not yet a phantom, and was now no longer a man.

"Lud, man! you frightened me," she said with a forced little laugh, "your presence is entirely inopportune. . I want to listen to Gluck, and have no mind for talking."

"But this is my only opportunity," he said, as quietly, and without waiting for permission, he drew a chair close behind her--so close that he could whisper in her ear, without disturbing the audience, and without being seen, in the dark background of the box.

He checked himself, and added, with a laugh, in which there was something horrible:

"Have you reflected upon it? Who tells you that I am not a murderer?"

"Is that a threat, citoyen?" she asked at last.

"Nay, fair lady," he said gallantly, "only an arrow shot into the air."

"Pride and Pimpernel" by Jane Orczy

("The Scarlet Pimpernel" in normal font, "Pride and Prejudice" in italics )

"'We all know him to be a proud, unpleasant sort of man,' 'I know how much you dislike him!' "

" 'La, man,' rejoined Marguerite, with a shrug of her graceful shoulders, ' tis impossible to hate Sir Percy for anything!' "
~ Baroness Austen

Suddenly, at her feet, on the very doorstep, she saw something white lying there- a letter evidently- she hardly dared touch it...

At last she stooped to pick it up and amazed, puzzled beyond measure , she saw that the letter was addressed to herself in her husband's business-like-looking hand.

She tore open the envelope and read-

"Be not alarmed, Madam, on receving this letter, by the apprehension of its containing any repetition of those setiments or renewal of those offers which were last night, so disgusting to you.

"You will laugh when you know where I am gone, and I cannot help laughing myself at your surprise tomorrow morning as soon as I am missed."
~ Baroness Austen

"Odd's life, m'dear, be reasonable! Do you think I am going to allow my body to be made a pincoushion of my every little frog-eater who don't like the shape of your nose?"

"La, Sir Percy!' laughed Lady Blakeney, as she bobbed him a quaint and pretty curtsy, 'you need not be afraid, tis not the men who dislike the shape of my nose!"

"Her nose wants character, there is nothing marked in its lines," said Miss Bingley.

"I Will Repay The Musical!" by Baroness Wildhorn

("I Will Repay" in normal, "She Was There" from the musical in italics) He [Paul] thought of her, and wondered what had happened. As he walked swiftly across the narrow footbridge, and reached the other side of the river, the events of the past few hours rushed upon his memory with terrible, overwhelming force.

"So many nights I have stood in the moonlight, watching it fade into dawn..."
~ Citoyenne Ainsley
