Just a space for me to say things ...
Entry for July 26, 2007

There are times in my life that I simply feel like the ability to make a decision fails me.  It not that I can't make an informed choice.  Taking in all the facts and quickly making a mental pro and cons list isn't the problem.  Its all the inner-brain 'what ifs' that cloud the whole process.  There are, however clear days.  Where the sun shines through unimpeded.  Those are the days that I find myself searching to obtain.  I would really like that combination to that lock, to be able to open that door each day even when my mind is off on its own rabbit trails.  Anywhooooo, moving on.

HP ... do I even need to say what that stands for.  The all anticipated book seven.  I get it, I really do.  They are good books.  I will read it ... but only after I  can do so when all the hype is over.  I have read the others, well books on CD and only one through five.  I'm reading book six now ... I thought reading book six then being able to go straight into book seven would make it better somehow.  Do these books dabble in witch craft?  Maybe, maybe not.  I can only tell the facts.  God does day in the Bible that any practice of magic is an "abomination" to Him.  (Deut. 18:10-14)    The whole problem with the idea is ...  that witchcraft is not fantasy; it is a sinful reality in our world.   So any exposure to that, especially to young minds, is the potentially harmful thing.  So, what are Christians to do?  I think that children who have not been taught the Bible need not read Harry Potter.  However, once a child has been taught the Word, then the books could be read.  I do think that parents should study on this for a while ... seek God's wisdom and guidance for the answer.
