Some Christians feel that it isn't right to celebrate Halloween. They say that it is pagan in it's origins and that many of the things we use to decorate for Halloween are evil and Satanic. But consider this: December 25th was also a pagan holiday, but look what has been done with it! The Christians took it to their hearts as the unofficial birthday of Jesus and cellebrate it as such. So, I say to them, why not do something similar with Halloween?
I truly believe that if you celebrate this holiday in modern, (within a hundred years or so) traditional ways , it can be a perfectly innocent thing. As a child I NEVER thought of Halloween as a holiday for satanic worship. It was fun, and still can be! So the Jack-O-Lantern had a wicked beginning...it doesn't mean he can't be used to decorate with today. Most people don't even know of the evil beginnings of such things, so why worry about it? It's what is in your heart that counts, and for my family Halloween has always been, and will continue to be, a fun holiday!
These are definately smiles that indicate satisfaction of a job well done!
Later a candle was placed in this "Jack" and he smiled all night long!
