Listener Feedback & Reviews

Mar-2-2002 _ Moline, IL > REO & STYX

REO and Styx are having a blast on stage... sometimes their energy makes me dizzy!

REO shirt from the Moline show/Lorrie says they also have shirts w/REO & Styx info combined

Both bands look like they had a clothing makeover and also look like they are really thin. No, seriously, Tommy actually looked gaunt - although the flu "bug" was going around. Dave Amato played with a 104 temp...

REO changed their set to have a complete Hi Infidelity set and I guess they did some different lighting things although we were too close to really catch the lighting. What most stood out for me was the complete joy they were having. In fact, when Kevin saw us with our "Dave Amato faces" he fell to his knees laughing. We don't know if it was the masks or his recognition of us goofy WI fans with the leis, but, Wow! We also held up a {{Bruce}} sign and no kidding - the ear to ear grin he got was priceless! Neal and Bryan were moved closer together and were having fun and bobbing along, too! REO has the best interaction with the audience.

Styx was last and they of course did not disappoint. They pretty much did the same set & lighting/confetti, etc., as we seen them do last year in Milwaukee. [editor's note: Joe Stark, Billy Squier, and Bad Company and Styx performed on July 15th, 2001, at Milwaukee's Marcus Amphitheatre. Lorrie won free tickets from the radio station.] Styx deleted a couple of songs and added "Crystal Ball" and "Suite Madam Blue," I think. I know they didn't do "Criminal Mind" and "Sing for the Day" - which were the 2 standouts from Milwaukee for me. Yes, they moved and worked the stage (sometimes a little too much, IMHO).

Everyone in our group really enjoyed both bands.

My friend Alicia, this was her 1st time seeing either band, left the area for a minute and returned during Kevin's acoustic set... & she walked right up to Bruce Hall who was standing off to the side -- and got a hug!! Alicia was wearing one of our Wisconsin-party lei's and Bruce told her that we are the best & that he loves to see us in the crowd.

Concert notes by Lorrie - Styx/REO fan from central Wisconsin
Lorrie and the WI Crew have tickets to see Styx in April - and are making plans to see REO, again, in June or September. Also, she's getting a bit spoiled. "I'm starting to really like the smaller venues," Lorrie says. "The Mark of the Quad was awesome. About 10,000 seats and all real close."
