Blair walked into Todd’s office with a playful smile on her face. “Let’s play hooky, Todd.”
His eyebrows rose as he regarded his wife carefully from behind his desk. “What?”
“Come on, Todd. I’m sick of this place and it’s gorgeous outside.” She bit her bottom lip as she sashayed her way over to him and plopped herself down onto his lap. “We can take an extra long lunch and an early dinner.” She sucked his earlobe into her mouth and released him. “Whaddya say?” she whispered into his ear.
“I say,” he cleared his throat. “That we get back to work.” He pushed her off of his lap and smacked her on the ass.
“Todd!”
He chuckled softly. “Blair, I gotta finish the front page for tomorrow and then,” he paused and circled her waist with his hands and pulled her back onto his lap, “we can take the rest of the day off.”
She sighed and he kissed her softly. “Fine, but hurry it up. I’m hungry.”
He returned to his laptop as Blair took a seat on the couch beside the window.
“I’m proud of you,” she told him a few minutes later.
“Huh?” he asked confused.
“For not printing anything about the Morgan’s.”
He snorted dismissively as he quickly stole a glance at her. “There was nothin’ to write about. They came, wasted my damn time, and left. End of story.”
“Right,” she sighed. “Cause a big mob boss coming to town isn’t something that would appear in the Sun.”
He tore his eyes away from the screen to look at her. “What’s this about, Blair?”
She shrugged in return. “I don’t know. I guess I’m just glad that you and Jason decided to put whatever differences you had aside to find the creep that sent those pictures to me and Carly.”
“Nobody threatens my family,” he told her seriously.
“I know and no one will as long as we have you.”
“Damn straight,” he muttered.

"Long day?" Carly chuckled from behind her desk as she watched Sonja storm into her office.
Sonja threw herself onto one of the couches and brought a throw pillow to her face, effectively drowning out a scream.
"Feel better?" Carly asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No," Sonja sighed as she hugged the pillow to her chest.
Carly cocked her head to the side and made her way to the couch. She and Sonja had gotten close over the past year, but she was definitely a hard girl to figure out at first. But the more she got to know her, the more she liked her and eventually she blended in as another member of the Morgan extended family.
"What's up, sweetie?" Carly asked her.
Sonja looked up at her and smiled. "I just killed your ex."
Carly began to laugh and threw her arms in the air. "Why the hell aren't you celebrating then?"
Sonja shrugged and chewed at her bottom lip. “I dunno. I’m not getting my usual ‘Yay, one more asshole out of the world’ vibe.”
“Why not?”
“If I knew, I wouldn’t be here,” she sniffed throwing the pillow to the side and letting her head fall back against the cushions.
“You’re in a bitchy mood,” Carly told her as she sat next to her.
“No, I’m not. Take it back,” she frowned.
"Whatever," Carly scoffed. "Why don't you tell me why you came storming into my office like a bat out of hell then?"
"Thought you might wanna know about Sonny boy," Sonja told her simply.
She rolled her eyes at the response. "I woulda found out from Jason."
"He got Sonny good," she laughed.
"Did he throw him in a closet like I suggested?" Carly asked with a large grin.
Sonja turned to face Carly. "Yeah and you’ll be interested to know this, Sonny was watching a really interesting home movie when I got there."
Carly chuckled softly. "Was it the childbirth one?"
"Nooo," Sonja smiled.
"Hmmm, was it the wedding?"
"Nope," Sonja laughed. "I guess it really wasn't a home movie to tell you the truth."
Carly's smile began to fall. "Sonja, if that asshole husband of mine was showing what I think he was showing--"
Carly couldn't finish her sentence because Sonja began to laugh hysterically.
"He didn't!"
Sonja choked back a laugh, "He did!"
Carly sat there for a few seconds, her mouth open. "Jason showed Sonny a video of us screwing?"
Sonja simply nodded her head.
Carly shook her head and began to laugh softly. "That's pretty fucking funny actually."
Sonja continued to nod her head and Carly continued to laugh. "Fuck he's dead and the bastard deserved to see what I really look like when I get off."
Sonja began to laugh harder as did Carly.
"He's dead. Who gives a shit," Carly shrugged.
As their laughter died down, Carly turned back to Sonja seriously. "Soo . . ." Carly started. "You gonna tell me the real reason you're here?"
Sonja rolled her eyes at her, her previous happy mood gone. "I just told you."
"Don't lie to me, bitch."
"I'm not lying! I just thought you'd want to know that your bastard of an ex-husband is burning in hell where he belongs."
Carly chuckled softly. "Okay, so you told me what happened, are you leaving now?"
Sonja glared at her. "You trying to get rid of me?"
She shrugged nonchalantly. "Nope, but you told me what you came here for, so that means there's nothing else on your mind, right?"
Sonja shrugged. "Guess not."
"God you're impossible!" Carly yelled. “It's like pulling teeth with you.” She began to throw a pillow up in the air after a moment. "You know what?"
"What?" Sonja sighed as she sunk further into the couch.
"I met this really cute guy in Llanview the other day."
"You're married."
"Not for me, you dumbass!"
"For who then?"
"You, you bitch, but I'm starting to think you might be too psycho for him."
Sonja sighed tiredly. "Carly, I told you to stop trying to hook me up with these guys. I don't --"
"I don't need a guy in my life right now, blah blah blah," Carly cut her off. "When was the last time you went out on a date, Sonja?"
"I hung out with Johnny last week."
Carly's eyes quickly flickered to her friend. "Johnny's your friend, he doesn't count."
"Why not?"
"It's not like you guys slept together or anything."
Sonja's eyes involuntarily grew wide and the realization finally hit Carly. "Oh my god!” she sat upright and pointed at Sonja with one hand as the other covered her mouth. “You did! You slept with Johnny!"
Sonja groaned softly and hugged the throw pillow to her chest again. "We were lonely."
"Sonja!" Carly cried incredulously, who was now kneeling on the couch facing her.
"What?"
"You slept with Johnny?"
"Yeah," she muttered quietly examining her hands and refusing to make eye contact with Carly.
"How long has this been going on?"
"You know we used to go out."
"Bitch, I meant recently."
"A couple weeks."
"You've been sleeping with Johnny, your ex-boyfriend, your best friend, for the past few weeks and you didn't say anything?!"
"I didn't think it was important."
Carly whacked Sonja in the head with a throw pillow. "Are you insane?"
"You're the bitch that was in Ferncliff, not me!"
"Oh my god," Carly breathed, her eyes going wide with understanding.
"What? Did I hurt your feelings?"
"You're still in love with Johnny," she stated softly.
Sonja's mouth fell open in shock. "That's a lie!"
Carly began to mull over the information. "Oh my god, this is why you've been acting all crazy. You slept with him and you what? Realized you were still in love with him?"
"I'm not in love with Johnny O'Brien!"
Carly's mouth fell open again. "Oh my god . . . Lou. You know about Lou don't you?"
Sonja rubbed her forehead and sighed deeply, wanting to sink deeper into the cushions until she completely disappeared. "Carly, please just drop it and stop saying 'oh my god'."
Carly flung her arm over Sonja's shoulder. "It's okay, Sonja, you can tell me what's going on. I swear I won't say a word."
At that moment Marci walked into Carly's office. "Carly, here's that marketing--" her voice trailed off when she saw the two women. "What's wrong?" she asked worriedly.
"Nothing," Sonja sighed.
Marci looked at Carly and clucked her tongue. "Which one of you bitches is gonna tell me what's goin' on?"
"It's nothing, Marci," Carly started. "Really." Carly's eyes shifted quickly between Sonja and Marci a few times, trying to give her best friend a heads up. "Nothing at all."
"Right," Marci sighed as she closed and locked the door behind her. "What’s up?"
Carly looked at Sonja with a raised eyebrow. "You wanna tell her or should I?"
"You said you wouldn't say anything, you bitch!"
She simply shrugged in return. "Come on, Sonja, you know damn well you would’ve said something to Marci too."
Marci chuckled happily as she sat on the couch next to Carly. "Okay, now I know this is good."
Sonja rolled her eyes and stood from the couch. "It's nothing, Marci. Carly's just acting all psycho on me." She walked over to the window and remained silent.
Carly rolled her eyes in her direction and turned back to Marci. "Get this, Marci, Sonja just told me--"
"I'm not in love with him!” Sonja yelled.
“She just killed Sonny,” Carly said at the same time.
Marci looked at Sonja, shock on her face. "You're in love with Sonny?"
Carly began to laugh and Sonja glared at her. "That wasn't funny."
"Hey, you're the one that told her, not me."
"Told me what?!" Marci shouted.
"I'm not in love with Johnny!"
Marci opened her mouth, but no words came out at first. "Johnny?" she croaked. "Johnny O'Brien? The guy who can't keep his dick in his pants? You’re in love with him?"
"God, I hate you both," Sonja muttered.
"Sweetie, you don't mean that," Marci started. "I mean, if you're in love with the guy, then you know, so be it."
"Will you please stop saying that? I'm not in love with him. I'm just sleeping with him!"
"Ohhhhh," Marci sighed. "Right. Just sleeping with him. You and every tramp he comes across."
"Johnny isn't like that," Sonja argued.
"Sonja," Marci sighed. "Johnny's a slut."
“He’s a whore,” Carly added.
“He’s a big slutty whore,” Marci shrugged. “Doesn’t mean I love him any less, but facts are facts.”
“I’m not in love with him,” Sonja told them sternly from the other side of the room. “Just forget this conversation ever came up. And besides it’s not like I’m sleeping with him now. We stopped and we,” she paused slightly. “We’re not gonna go down that road again. So can we drop this now?”
“If that’s what you want,” Marci sighed.
“Whatever floats your boat, kid.”
“Good,” Sonja smiled in relief walking back to her friends.
“But you’re gonna have to stop living in denial and admit to yourself that you love him eventually,” Carly told her simply.
“You know what?” Sonja asked, making her way towards the door instead. “I really wish you guys would stop interfering with my love life. And for the love of sweet baby Jesus, stop saying I’m in love with Johnny!” She turned the doorknob to storm out of the office, but almost banged her head from the force on the still closed door.
“The door’s locked, sweetie,” Marci told her softly.
“I knew that,” she shrugged with a flip of her hair. “I just forgot to say something else.”
Carly and Marci both looked at her expectantly, eyebrows raised.
“Um,” she unlocked the door and looked back at them. “Stop trying to run my love life.”
“You already said that,” Carly smiled.
“Well, um, good,” she rolled her eyes and opened the door successfully. “I just wanted to make sure that, you know, that it was crystal clear.” She exited the office and closed the door behind her.
Carly and Marci looked at each other and the door opened once again. Sonja popped her head in with a smile on her face. “I’ll talk to you guys later, bye!” she called cheerfully and once again shut the door.
Carly and Marci stared at the door and Marci began to chuckle softly. “Sweet Lord.”
“You can say that again,” Carly grinned. An idea hit her and she slapped Marci on the arm.
“Ow, you bitch,” Marci swore, rubbing her arm. “What the hell was that for?”
“I have the most perfect plan. It’s like fate,” she muttered. “I was gonna do this anyway, but then this comes up and it just proves what great timing and taste I have.”
Marci quickly glanced at Carly. “Oh god, Carly, don’t look at me like that! You heard what she said, she doesn’t want us interfering.”
“And since when do we ever listen?”
Marci shrugged. “Never.”
“Exactly and I have the perfect idea that’s either gonna get her mind off of the slutty whore known as Johnny or admit to herself that she loves him.”
“And that would be what exactly?”
“How’s tall, dark, and handsome sound?”
“I already have one of those.”
“Not for you, you crackwhore. Sonja! I’m gonna set her up on a blind date for the Nurse’s Ball.”
“With who?”
Carly smiled widely and Marci finally grinned. “Ohhh, I know who you have in mind . . . she’s gonna kill us.”
“I know,” she grinned. “But she’ll be one happy bitch when she does.”

Llanview, PA
Johnny’s smile grew wider as he caught sight of Lou bent over her desk searching for something. “Damn,” he whistled, watching her backside swing back and forth.
He sidled up behind her quietly. “Hi there, green eyes.”
Lou smiled slightly, but quickly lost it before she turned around to face him. “Johnny O'Brien, what brings you back to Llanview?"
"You," he answered.
"Right," she chuckled.
She slid past him and headed for Todd's office.
"I’m serious," he tried to convince her.
"So you're telling me that you came all the way here, all by yourself?"
He shrugged slightly and tilted his head to the side. "I’m a big boy now. My mommy even lets me stay out after the street lights come on."
She smirked at him and entered Todd’s office.
“Boss Man isn't here?" Johnny asked right on her heels.
She quickly turned around and narrowed her eyes slightly. "No." she dropped the files on the desk and leaned back against it. "Why are you here, Johnny? Checking up on the Mannings?"
"I told you," he started as he walked closer to her. "I'm here to see you."
She watched him for a moment. "Why?" she asked seriously.
"Why not?" he answered in the same tone.
"I don’t get it," she began, casting a glance out of the window and back to him. "Is this some sort of plan to get info out of me or something?"
Johnny’s smile faded when he realized how serious she was. "Lou, why in the hell would you think that?"
She shrugged slightly. "It's the only logical explanation."
"Me coming to see you isn’t logical?"
"Not really."
"Why?"
She bit the corner of her bottom lip and shrugged. "Why would you wanna do that? It doesn’t make any sense to me."
He stepped closer to her and touched her cheek briefly. "I thought we hit it off the last time I was here."
"We shared a few drinks, big deal."
"No, it was more than that," he said quietly.
"I think you have an over-active imagination," she told him with a smile.
“I think you don’t realize how beautiful you are.”
She frowned at that and cleared her throat. “What do you want, Johnny, because there’s nothing I can give you.”
“All I want,” he smiled. “Is some time to get to know you better. Over dinner. That’s all.”
“That’s all?” she couldn’t help but smile.
“That’s all,” he whispered. “What do you say?”
She licked her bottom lip as she considered his request. “Let me grab my purse.”

Carly fell back onto her couch at home after finally putting Ethan to bed for the night. She grabbed the nearby phone and dialed the number written on a slip of paper sitting on the end table. She leaned back against the couch, waiting for an answer and stifled a yawn. She smiled when she finally heard the breathless ‘hello?’
“Blair, hi, this is Carly Morgan. I didn’t catch you at a bad time did I?”
Blair couldn’t help it and a pleased smiled crossed her face. “Carly, hi!” she answered happily. “We just got home actually, what’s up?” Her smile soon fell. “You haven’t gotten another package have you?” she asked worriedly.
“No! No,” Carly quickly answered. “Have you?”
“No, thank god.”
“Good. I was gonna call you last night, but Ethan refused to settle in for the night. Every time I got him down, he’d wake right back up.”
“I know how that goes,” Blair chuckled softly. “Boys are just bad like that.”
“Tell me about it. Listen the reason I’m calling is, well, I know it’s last minute, but Port Charles holds an annual ball to help raise funds for AIDS research. It’s this big brouhaha and it’s really a lot of fun and I just happened to snag four extra tickets and I thought it might be fun if you guys came up for the event.”
“Really?” Blair asked with a hint of excitement in her voice.
“Yeah,” Carly grinned. “I mean, like I said I know it’s last minute, it’s two weeks away from Saturday and if you can’t make it, I completely understand.”
“That’s really sweet of you, Carly. We’d love to come.”
“Great,” Carly replied happily. “You sure you don’t need to clear anything with the others?”
Blair chuckled as she shook her head. “No, don’t you worry, we’ll all be there. Just recommend the best hotel in Port Charles and we’ll be set.”
“Hell, no,” Carly laughed. “You guys are my guests so I’m taking care of everything.”
“Carly, I can’t ask you to do something like that.”
“You’re not asking and I’m insisting. So you need three rooms, right?”
“No, two’s just fine.”
Carly’s face fell at that. “Oh, I didn’t realize Lou and Steve were together together.”
“They’re not,” Blair chuckled. “Lou just has this thing about staying in hotel rooms,” she explained. “One time when we were in Vegas she swore up and down that there was a ghost in her room. Steve always stays with her on the couch or the floor or wherever he happens to pass out.”
“Wow, that’s . . .”
“Weird,” Blair finished for her with a laugh. “But in a cute way.”
Carly laughed as well. “I’ll call you in a few days with all the info.”
“Great, I’m looking forward to it.”
Carly’s smile widened. “I am too.”
Carly pressed the end button on the phone and lay down on the couch. For the first time, in a long time, she was looking forward to the Nurse’s Ball. She snickered quietly remembering how she would’ve killed to be there amongst the elite snobs of Port Charles. She closed her eyes, thinking of the better times she had had during the event and a sense of warmth filled her. It felt like it was a lifetime ago.
She heard the front door open and shut, but she didn’t bother to open her eyes to see who it was. She felt the extra weight settle onto the couch and the kiss placed on her forehead caused her to smile and her eyes to open.
“Hi,” she breathed.
“Hi, yourself. Tired?” Jason asked her quietly.
“Always,” she yawned. He placed her legs across his lap and began to massage her feet. “Mmm,” she mumbled. “You’re the best husband ever.”
“I know,” he smirked.
“Remember when I told you a few nights ago that I was gonna ask the Manning’s to the Nurse’s Ball?”
“Yeah.”
“Blair accepted the invitation.”
Jason nodded his head. “That’s good. Manning can bring up any new info he has.”
“I’m glad the two of you are getting along.”
“Whatever it takes Carly.”
She raised herself up on her elbows and tilted her head to the side. “I know you’ll always protect us, Jase . . . From all the baddies in the world.”
“Sonja told you about Sonny, huh?” he grinned at her. “I bet Manny twenty bucks that you’d be the first place she went afterwards.”
“Yeah,” she smiled. “The poor girl was busting at the seams to break the news. She also told me about some kind of video you showed Sonny.”
Jason stopped rubbing Carly’s feet and watched her with a giddy look. “I love you.”
“You’re such an ass, Jason!” she couldn’t help but laugh. “How could you show him something like that?”
“It was pretty fuckin’ funny.”
“I’m sure it was, you asshole,” she continued to laugh as she poked him in the ribs with her right foot. “I wish I was there to see his face.”
Jason began to laugh as well. “It was priceless, that’s for sure.”
She sat up and crawled towards Jason and sat on his lap. “I love you, you jerk.”
He pushed a few strands of hair away from her face and kissed her softly. “I know.”
“Now carry me up to bed, I’m too tired to get up.”
He cradled her in his arms and after a few attempts he rose from the couch. “Took you long enough,” she smirked.
“Shut up or I’ll drop you,” he told her as he made his way to the staircase.
“You wouldn’t dare.”
He dropped his arms lower and she squealed afraid that he really was about to drop her. “That wasn’t funny,” she told him as she gripped his neck even tighter.
“Sure it was,” he grinned making his way up the stairs.
