THE DEAL
The dealer begins the game by dealing 13 cards to each player.
The deal rotates clockwise around the table.
Each hand is dealt with one less card until the deal has only 1 card. Then each hand is dealt with one more card until the deal has 13 cards.
On all hands with less than 13 cards a trump card is randomly selected.

THE BIDDING
Each player in turn, starting with the player to the left of the dealer, must predict exactly how many tricks they will win.
The last player to bid may not allow the total bid to add up to the total number of cards in their hand.

THE PLAY
The player opposite the dealer starts the play by leading any card they choose.
Each player in turn must play a card from the suit led if they have one.
A player without a card from the suit led may play any card.
A card from the trump suit beats any card from any other suit.
The player who plays the highest card from the suit led or who plays the highest trump suit wins the trick and must lead the next card.

SCORING
A player who makes his bid exactly is awarded 5 points plus their bid.
A player who fails to make his bid loses a point for each trick over or under their bid.
