Horse Water Fountain

Made in 1907 of granite and weighed six tons. Given to the city by Herman Lee Ensign who willed a large part of his estate to the Humane Alliance to erect animal drinking fountains. Stood at 10th street and Broadway. Moved to a grassy island nearby so it wouldn't be destroyed by passing cars. Bottom photograph is of the floodwall mural showing horses drinking from the water fountain.[BACK]
