Ripples In The Sky
I look at my reflection
A million faces stare back
A million memories
Float upon the rippling water.
I find that all I can do
Is laugh and stare into
The blue entrancing water.
Only to realize
That it's not the water that's blue, but the sky.
And what of my laughter?
Do I scoff at my own self?
No.  I realize the details
Of change and ponder
How the littlest things
Can send a person
This way and that.
The irony of life,
Can be the source
Of much laughter.
So as I sit and wonder
And stare into the water,
I can't help
But to laugh and wonder
Are my memories
Ripples in the water
Or are they really
The wind in the sky?
