Jean continues to have a good working relationship with staff and youth on probation. She has a good knowledge of agency structure, function, and policies.
2. What recommendations do you have for this student/intern to enhance his/her learning and professional development in your agency?
Jean has taken the initiative to work a shift in detention, learning about the Intake process and taking the training for the diversion program for additional experience with the Juvenile Dept. She is comfortable enough to ask for assistance and advice when needed and will learn more the longer she is with the department.

Jean has demonstrated her ability to be successful in her stated learning objectives and has also developed sensitivity and insight in the cases she has observed and/or monitored.
4. What new areas of learning do you suggest for this student/intern?
Jean can expand her knowledge of the Department by working in the non-offender unit, assisting a Court Service Officer with their dependency caseload. Jean has a good understanding of how the entire Department operates.
5. What additional comments, insights, and/or information
would you like to share
with this student/intern?
It is my opinion that Jean has continued to exceed her set goals and expectations of her internship. She has proven to be organized, motivated to learn, able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, aware of cultural differences, and has been a positive role model. She has a genuine interest and concern for youth in our community and presents herself in a professional manner to clients.

This is the area where Jean has improved the most. Part of this may be the result of increased confidence, but I think her interest in the principal learning objective (behavioral changes in patients undergoing cancer therapies) is probably the biggest reason for her improvement in this area.

Jean really took the initiative this summer, and she seemed very interested in the learning objective.
