Bare and stripped of the possibly useless adjectives that can cluttler so many poems, 'Analyzing Otherwise Meaningless Words' comes alive in it's own simplicity. This poem is a great insight into the thinking behind so many of Mulder and Scully's conversations. I especially enjoyed it's theme: that rational, level-headed Scully finds confusion and tends to loose herself in Mulder. Though I was initially lost by the lack of punctuation and trouble with the flow, they were only small distractions. This was an interesting twist on Scully's character that managed to remain true to her spirit, and I certainly appreciated that. Kudos to Amber; 'Analyzing...' gets a solid 4 out of 5. review by Lydia |
