| The exhibition of live stock was not new for our family, which of course is known as Jemaple stud in the Cavy world. Long before we became introduced into the cavies, we had been breeding and exhibiting pure bred dogs for many years. My son Michael wanted to buy a pair of cavies as pets and perhaps breed the occassional litter. It was pure chance that my daughter, Patricia, noticed an advertisment in the newspaper for pure bred cavies for sale. Up until that very moment, we were totally oblivious that pure bred cavies even existed. Well, that was how we came to purchase our first Rex cavies for Michael and I clearly remember how astonsihed we all felt , as we had always thought of cavies to be very different. There was an instant attraction to them. Onward bound, we made inquries about the possibility of exhibiting cavies. Armed with our information, we set about visiting our first cavy show. Upon our visit, first impressions were total amazement that there were cavy shows. We were also impressed that they were run in a similar format as dog shows, but on a much smaller scale and with a few differences. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing, the people seemed nice, and we thought we could give "cavy exhibition" a go , just for fun and in addition to our dogs shows. Fun we certainly had, and our numbers of cavies soon grew as did our fascination of breeding cavies. Now, we thoroughly enjoy exhibiting our cavies (minus a "Michael"), he prefers to exhibit the dogs, however, myself, Anne, my daughters Evonne and Patricia, enjoy both worlds. We love the exhibition of dogs and cavies. It has brought us great pleasure, many friends, and interests that bring the family together. |

Lilac Buff Black Chocolate English Crested: White, Cream, & Lilac Roans: Red, Golden, Chocolate & Black Dalmations, Rex, Shelties, Texels, and Coronets Orders are taken, preferably in trios.
