Cavies are delightful little individuals with a charm and personality all of their own. They are small, quiet, inexpensive to feed, easy to maintain and as an added bonus...odour free!!! They make excellent companions, (stress relievers as I call them) for people of all ages. Children, the elderly, or even people with physical handicaps or limitations, everyone can enjoy a cavy or two.
They love to sit on your lap quietly and enjoy being stroked. It has been acclaimed by the medical authorities that pet ownership and the interaction between pets and their owners can help to lower blood pressure and reduce the chance of stroke and heart attacks. Cavies are non aggressive little "fur people" and respond very well to their owners, greeting them with their all familiar "tweeting" whistles.
Cavies can be bathed as well as groomed; some even quite enjoy this form of pampering. They can provide you and your family with hours of quailty time spent together, enjoying the fun of keeping cavies as pets.
Cavies teach children to be responsible, to have respect for living things, it helps them to understand about life in a sense that they are responsible for that life. If children are encouraged to participate in the exhibition of cavies, it is very beneficial in that it gives children an even greater sense of responsibilty, participating in an enjoyable pass time, and learning all about good sportmanship. |
