Little Mouse Has Arrived!!!
Tessa Ruth has arrived!!!
Tessa arrived in this world on February 16, 2005 at 10:40 am. She was 8 pounds, 7 3/4 ounces, 18 3/4 inches long. She has a head full of light blonde hair and blue eyes. Right now she looks just like her Big Sister when she was born! Thank goodness their Daddy makes pretty babies! lol
The Birth Story
Tessa had a rough first 24 hours. She was born by repeat c-section, and came out screaming! When they took her to the nursery, her blood sugar was low, her oxygen saturation was low, her respiration rate was doubled, and she had a heart murmur. So, she was hooked up to IVs, placed inan oxygen dome & sent for a chest x-ray & an echo cardiogram. Mommy was sad that she didn't get to hold her for just over 24 hours! Maggie was sad that her baby was in the nursery, and she had to come out "Now! With all that stuff taken off!" And Daddy ran back & forth between Mommy's room & the nursery all day. But, after 24 hrs, Tessa was able to come back to Mommy's room. She was cleared to come home on Friday, her heart murmur (officially known as PDA) closed, her sats were up, resp rate was normal & blood sugar was normal. She was still on the IV till we were offically cleared to go home, and it took her a couple of days to get the hang of nursing, but she is a champ now! Mommy is doing great, Maggie is a wonderful Big Sister, and Daddy is adjusting too :)
