The last three days at my school was probably biggest waste of time ever. I'm not talking about my time, I'm talking about the time of any moron who decided to join the walkout that the students formed on monday. A small percentage of the students at my school walked out and stood on the front lawn of the school for the whole six hours of school (while taking breaks between each class that they weren't missing for recess because it was too damn cold for them outside) in protest of some of the new policies that the school implemented at the begining of the school year. These policies included the following:
1)No bookbags are allowed to be worn during the school day. Bookbags must be put in the lockers at the beginging of the day and taken out at the end of the day.
2)All benches will be removed from the school.
3)No walkouts will be permitted ever by penalty of death.
Ok, I made that last one up, but I would've made it pass as a policy if I were the one in charge. The thing that gets me is that all of these idiots skipped class, stood on the front lawn in the freezing cold, talked all day and bragged about how fun their school day was, and all of this over the fact that we have to carry our books around by hand and that we have no benches in the hallways to sit on. The walkout started on monday, went through until tuesday, and today the faculty finally gave in to the demands of the students. If I were the principal I wouldn't have given in, because if the schools give in that easily then what's going to stop the students from doing it every fucking week?
Granted we all know damn well that a large percentage of the people protesting (If that's what you can really call what they were doing) didn't even know what they were protesting for and were just taking advantage of not having to go to class. You could honestly tell that most of them were this way because during lunch and recess breaks they came inside from the cold to take their breaks, eat their lunch, and then once the bell rang they went right back out on the front lawn like the dopey twats they were. If you idiots were really dedicated to the issues you were supposedly standing for then why the fuck didn't you just stay out there in the cold to show that you meant business and were willing to freeze your asses off to get what you want? Fucking cowards. Not only are wasting your precious class time but you're not even doing a damn good job of protesting. You lost all credibility and all respect from me (not that you ever had it to begin with anyways).
As if that wasn't enough, the students felt the need to write "Honk" on paper, bristol board, and their stomachs and point them out towards the road in hopes that cars will honk at them to support their cause. The funny thing about it is that these messages neglected to indicate exactely what their cause was to begin with. So the cars driving by were honking at useless bristol boards and cleavage (and equally retarded is the fact that the entire group cheared in some dumbass fashion everytime they got someone to honk). Great way of getting your point across...morons.
I think the thing that makes it seem most pathetic is the fact that a global news cast came down on tuesday to film the students protest, interview some teachers, some students, and hopefully laugh in their heads about how stupid the kids are being. You can really tell the quality of a news program if they take time out of their news segment and fill it with bullshit about kids bitching and whining about not being able to sit. Exactely what the fuck do the students have to say about this that doesn't make them look like babbling idiots? Someone I know told me that they were on the news that night (apparently was interviewed) and I wouldn't exactely say she's the smartest person I know. Half a dozen interviews and all of them the same thing. More bitching and whining about the inconvenience of having to walk further between classes. Oh boo hoo. Get over it. Having to walk isn't that bad, considering the buses give you ten minutes after last class to get your stuff from you lockers. Even more proof that people were just using this opportunity to skip is the fact that 50% of the students outside didn't even have their bookbags on, the very thing that they're standing for. Not to mention the two dozen people standing across the road taking advantage of an extra smoke break, hell, most of them were standing IN the road and blocking traffic.
It's pretty damn obvious that most are just wanting to seem important and get on the news so the best answer to that is by a stupid protest of something as trivial as bookbags and not being able to sit down in the hallways during breaks. Oh no! No benches in the halls? The best solution to that is to stop hanging out in the halls and find a classroom that has enough desks to fit you and your group of whiney little cry-baby pussy friends.
This protest is going to make my school look like a bigger shithole than it usually is. People are going to think that anyone who comes out of this school is an irresponsible, whining, dumbass, disobedient little shit. Maybe if you so called protesters spent less time walking out, getting into fights during the walkout and throwing potatoes at the principal's head (true story) while standing against an issue that won't be worth shit ten years down the road and more time in the classroom learning so you can graduate before you turn 40 then we wouldn't have this problem now wouldn't we?
