I seriously get pissed off whenever I hear someone say the phrase "Wrestling is fake". These are the people who don't take into the account that...get this...IT'S JUST A FUCKING TV SHOW! When you say it's "fake" you really should direct it at anyone who believes that these events are actually going on and that there's actually a world heavyweight champion, the wrestlers are actually punching each other, etc. and not direct it at the rest of us who just watch it for the entertainment. What you really mean to say when you say it's fake is that wrestling is actually "staged". What's the difference you might ask? Everything on the show is pre-determined. They decide who will win what match, who will fight who, who hates each other, etc. based on what they believe the fans would like to see. Each match is planned out beforehand, and the moves that will be used in the match are already practiced beforehand. Now, when you say that it is "fake" it kind of says to me that the show isn't actually occuring, that the entire show and all of the characters aren't real (the opposite of fake). You have to learn the different between the two phrases. You see, the punches and kicks may be pulled, but the drop kicks and slamming someone down on a mat are actually making contact. You can't not hit someone when they are jumping at you and you drop kick them when they're in mid air. How can someone fly backwards if the kick isn't making contact? If you watch a wrestling match, you'll notice that the body slams, as well as the kicks, are actually hurting the wrestlers. Hell, half of the time the wrestlers get seriously injured but have to keep fighting on regardless of their injuries. Only the punches are pulled, and even then sometimes they aren't pulled (you can hear a slap to the chest make contact every time, and trust me, those things hurt like a bitch)In all honesty, I'd rather watch wrestling than any other NON-STAGED sports out there (football, hockey, etc.). They're a lot more entertaining than sports and half of the other shit that they plague the TV with. It pisses me off when I talk about the events going on in wrestling and somebody tells me I'm stupid because it's not real. Me talking about and episode of the WWE is no different than someone talking about the events of a soap opera or a sitcom etc. I've heard people talk about the events that go on in CSI just the same as how I talk about the events in the WWE, and yet I always hear people continuously tell me that it's not real. No shit asshole, neither is CSI or whatever shit you watch. And while we're on the subject, am I the only person who sees that CSI is actually helping people to get away with murder? They show people killing each other and they show the crime scene investigators and how they solve these crimes, so people could take notes as to what they could do to more effectively get away with killing someone. What does it matter anyways?
