Jessica "Mary Camden" Biel

Jessica Biel - Jessica Claire Biel was born on March 3, 1982, in Ely Minnesota, and was raised in Boulder, Colorado. The 5'8 actress, athlete, model, and amateur photographer began her career in teen model prints after being discovered at the 1994 IMTA Convention. Her breakthrough, however, came when she was cast as Mary Camden in "7th Heaven." Although she gained considerable attention for her work, she became frustrated with her role and blamed it on the loss of a leading real in "American Beauty" to Thora Birch. She went on to do racy photo shoots for Gear Magazine and made negative remarks about "7th Heaven" in hopes of getting fired. Soon, however, she regretted what she had done and returned to the show. Jessica has also turned to movies. She starred in "Ulees Gold, (1997)" and most recently, "The Rules of Attraction, (2002)" opposite James Van der Beek. She will also star in the upcoming remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," due out October 17, 2003. It was during her movie roles that she met Adam LaVorgna (Robbie Palmer on "7th Heaven). They dated both in life and on the show, although now they are no longer together. Jessicas father, Jon, is a business consultant, and her mother, Kim, is a homemaker. She also has a younger brother, Justin. The hazel-eyed, brown-haired beauty is also best friends with her co-star Beverley Mitchell, who is actually 14 months older despite playing her younger sister on "7th Heaven." On a side-note, she collects vintage glasses with no lenses; is of German, French, English and Native American (Choctaw) heritage; and was voted in at #30 in FHMs Sexiest Girls of 2002 poll, American edition, up from #82 the previous year. In 1998, she was nominated by the YoungStar Awards for Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Drama TV Series. In 2000, the same committee nominated Jessi and her on-screen siblings for Best Young Ensemble Cast in Television. Also, in 1998 and 1999, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Leading Young Actress. Although she did not win, she did win in 1998 for Best Performance for the 1997 movie "Ulees Gold." Jessi currently attends Tufts University.
