Stephen Collins - Stephen was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on October 1, 1947, to Cy and Madeleine Collins. Growing up, he had a love for music and formed a band during his junior year at New Yorks Hastings High School. The 6'1 Collins, who grew up on Floral Drive, began acting in the late 1970s, and has since appeared in over fifty roles. Some of his movie and television credits include "Star Trek: The Motion Picture, (1979)," "A Woman Named Jackie, (1991)," and "The First Wives Club (1996)." His new movie, "The Commission," is due out in September 2003. Stephen had a two-year role as Dr. Gabriel Sorenson on the show "Sisters," but he is now most notable for his role as Rev. Eric Camden on the WBs most successful show, "7th Heaven." He is certainly very happy with the show -- his favorite episode is "One Hundred" -- and expects it go on and on. He says, "We were really blessed with this cast. The day we all met, when we read the script, I felt I had known these people all these years. Most of that came from the fact that the script was so good, that it was easy to say the lines and relate to each other. That happens with good scripts. But there was something beyond that, there was an incredibly good fit." In 2001, Stephen was nominated for a Video Premiere Award for Best Audio Commentary on "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." Stephen was also listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1991" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 31. Aside from acting, he is also a writer, and published two books in the mid-90s: "Eye Contact" and "Double Exposure." He also monitors his website, www.stephencollins.com, and added directing to his long list of works when he directed three "7th Heaven" episodes, including "Nothing Endures But Change," a powerful season 2 episode that hit close to home with actress Beverley Mitchell. On March 18, 2003, Stephen released his first solo CD, a self-titled album that contains a mix of doo-wop, rock, and love ballads. Three of those tracks appeared on the shows milestone 150th episode, "We Do," which aired April 21, 2003. Stephen lives in Los Angeles, CA, just ten minutes from the "7th Heaven" set, with his wife, actress and designer Faye Grant (whom he married on April 21, 1985) and his daughter, Kate. His favorite color is apricot-peach.
