Childrens' Bible Stories - Two
In whose image were Adam and Eve created?

According to Genesis, God made Adam from the dust of the earth. While Adam slept, God took a rib from his side and the shaped the body of Eve. To both God gave a breath of His own life.

This made Adam and Eve much more then living bodies; it gave them Gods very own spirit. Because of this Adam and Eve could think for themselves.

They were not ruled by instinct like the animals. God put the first man and the first woman in charge of the rest of creation and gave them a beautiful place to live, the Garden of Eden.

What two important trees stood in the Garden of Eden?

The place where Adam and Eve lived was filled with every kind of delicious and satisfying fruit. In the very center stood the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. The Tree of Knowledge held the understanding of all things, both good and evil. The Tree of Life held eternal life.

God told Adam and Eve they could eat anything in the garden they desired, except for the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. If they ate this fruit, they would know good and evil, God said, and they would surely die.
