How did the serpent tempt Eve in the garden?
Living in the garden was a serpent who was smarter then any beast of the field that God had made. The serpent asked Eve if she could not eat of every tree of the garden.
When Eve explained that they could eat of every tree but the tree of knowledge the serpent said eat of the fruit and you will become just like gods.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
What excuse did Adam and Eve make for eating the fruit?
When Adam and Eve heard the Lord walking in the garden that evening, they hid from Him. But God called to Adam, and asked him what he had done. Adam blamed Eve: "The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." Eve told God that the serpent had tricked her.
God punished all three for their sins. The LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. God told Adam and Eve that they are to leave the garden.
