Childrens Bible stories - Four
How did Adam and Eve first clothe themselves?

When God created Adam and Eve, they were naked. They were not ashamed of their nakedness because they had no knowledge of good and evil. As soon as Adam and Eve tasted the fruit offered by the serpent, the fruit that God had forbidden them to eat, it was as if their eyes were opened. Now they wanted to hide their bodies, and they wove fig leaves togather to cover themselves.

Later when the Lord sent them from Eden, He killed animals to provide skins for their clothing. This was the first example of sacrifice in the Bible. To cover Adam and Eve's sin, it was necessary to shed the blood of an animal.

How did life change because Adam and Eve sinned?

Once Adam and Eve chose to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, life on the earth changed forever. In sorrow, God sent his disobedient children out of Eden:

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
