I am a 37 year old (but oh so close to 38) female.  I am married and have been since 1992.  We have two young boys.  In addition to being a Soccer/Baseball mom, I work full time as the Operations Administrator at one of Canada's largest Staffing Solutions Providers.

In April of 2003, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease (CD).  I knew very little about CD then, only that there was no cure and the only treatment available is to remain on a Gluten-Free diet for the rest of my life.

What is Celiac Disease you ask?  Well, to put it simply, it is a severe gluten intolerance.  Ah, you say...but what is gluten?  Gluten is the protein found in most cereal grains (e.g. wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt, kamut and tricitale).  If you would like to learn more about Celiac Disease, please visit the Celiac Canada Web site...the link can be found on the right side of this page.

I enjoy many things in life, not the least of which is volunteering and doing a little community service.  I am a member of the Brampton CERV (Community Emergency Response Volunteers) Team as well I volunteer in fundraising efforts for Habitat for Humanity Brampton and various other charitable organizations on a periodic basis.  It just so happens that I have recently started on a little fundraising adventure for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel Region.

But it's not all work and no play...no sir'ee...like any hardworking Canadian I like to unwind and socialize with friends.  Quite often my socializing leads me to local karaoke bars where I have been known to butcher a song or two.  Favourite places to scream into a mic are Joe Mercury's, Harry Flashmann's, Magnums and occasionally, the Gladstone.  I can be found at anyone of these fine establishments every other Saturday night.  If you're up for a laugh...why not pop by...just remember, the drunker you get, the better I sound.
As previously mentioned, I am married and have been happily so since 1992.  We have two delightful young boys born in 1993 and 1996.  We also have a very finicky cat named Nayla, born in 1995, who thinks she owns me.  She's cutely and cuddly when she wants to be, but the constant need to sit on my lap regardless of what I'm doing...tends to be a little irritating.

We are a typical North American family; car payments, mortgage, braces, etc.  We are sports crazy; we love baseball, soccer, skiing and golf.  We also enjoy family bike rides and visits to the beach and Paramount Canada's Wonderland...where your thrills are paramount :)  If you live in the vacinity, a season pass is highly recommended.

My best friend, whom I have had the pleasure of knowing since 1981, is no doubt THE best friend on the entire planet.  Yes, I realize that is an extremely broad statement and no, I have not met every single person on this globe we call earth; however, knowing and loving her as I do, I cannot conceive of a better friend.  I just don't believe it's possible...trust me...I am absolutely right about this.  You can ask her yourself...she'll back me up 100%
