Brophy in Rehab

Controversial Newtown Celtic striker James Brophy has been admitted to rehab for sex addiction. The troubled star broke down in a live interview on NCTV, and admitted that he is in fact a sex addict. This admission took place while Brophy was appearing on popular NCTV programme “Morkin on Monday”, hosted by local man Mick Morkin. Brophy seemed tired and emotional throughout the interview and was having trouble keeping himself composed, and eventually he cracked. The infamous star admitted to hitting on almost everyone he knows, and also conceded that he once attempted to coming onto his brother’s girlfriend, but was turned down. Following this he tried to score with a local goat, who is also believed to have turned him down.

Newtown Manager Sir Clive came out in support of Brophy in the wake of this latest scandal. “The club is going to do everything it can to help James through this trying time”, he told reporter Rodge Carmody. “To be honest I had my suspicions for some time, ever since he hit on me after the shield final last year.” However not everyone is so sympathetic to Brophy. One local woman said that he attempted to grope her while at mass, and a local man claimed that he had sent her lewd pictures of himself.

This latest scandal will do little to improve Brophy’s reputation and image as a bad egg, and a nuisance, and many feel that he is a negative influence within the club. New club captain Colm O’Brien was stinging in his criticism of the former Arra Rovers Young Player of the year. “I think this explains a lot to be honest. I mean, he was always looking at me funny in the dressing room, and trying to hug me after matches. It was unsettling. And we all know what happened in Edinburgh. I mean, that poor girl’s life is ruined and its about time something was done about it. I’m glad he’s getting the help he needs.” When asked if he would be visiting his friend in hospital O’Brien replied “I don’t think so. I don’t really have any close friends at the club” How right he is.
