Curly to remain in custody

Greek authorities have decided to hold Newtown's Pat "Curly" Quigley, who is in custody on suspicion of rape, for a further 14 days.

The former UL international was arrested on Monday following an alleged incident at a Crete nightclub last weekend.

The Celtic star was on a holiday with friends after a long hard season with his club.

It has been reported that a judge opted to extend the detention period of the player after a request by the Crete public prosecutor.

Court officials have yet to publicly ratify the news, but the ANP news agency claim Curly's agent Abraham Moszkowicz has confirmed the decision.

It is bad news for the 22-year-old who moved to Newtown from UL last summer for around 3 pieces of street chicken.
