Moneygall Lose Key Duo

Moneygall have lost the services of Billy Hayes and Mark Moroney after Newtown regained full registration of the players.

Newtown have now received three players in the space of just two days following Noel Shanahan's move back to Barry Park.

Moneygall's general management is gutted the club were outbid for the pair as it leaves the club desperately short of attacking options.

"We would have liked to keep both, but Newtown decided to go all the way," explained Ryan.

"For us it has been a terrible day. Now in attack we haven't much options.

"If Moroney had stayed, we would have just needed to get one more player for our attack.

Newtown have confirmed that Noel Shanahan will return to the club next season.

The former Newtown man was farmed out on loan to the mines last term and had a fine spell in there.

Shanahan was desperate to secure a permanent transfer to the Mines, but the two clubs failed to thrash out a deal, despite intense negotiations over the last few weeks.

The Mines appeared to admit defeat in their quest to sign Shanahan and Newtown have now confirmed Noel will return for training on July 7.

"We're delighted Noel is coming back," Celtic chief executive Kieran Hogan told the club's website. "He had a great season on loan in the Mines and showed what a good player he his.

"He is very happy to be coming back to Barry Park and I know he will be welcomed by everyone."
