I am presently looking at one such image and its scientific decoding:
another acephalic Venus of ginormous buttocks and tantalizingly full,
yet firmly protrusive breasts in a style right out of a sexy cartoon.
What figure had riveted my attention at the first glance? - The nubile
Venus? - No, that just wasn't the case. Instead, my gaze feasted on
a
couple of prominent arcs symmetrically surrounding the image's center,
and just long enough to precipitate an illusion of a regular circle
(or even
of a planet-like globe inclusive of polar caps!), which is sliced off
at the top.
A quick experiment using a pair of compasses had proven that both arcs
are indeed on the same circle, which fits the engraved lines exceedingly
well.

A quick Reality Check:
a) A circle is a circle. It is a real symbol of itself. As such, it
cannot
be misinterpreted. The same applies to any other regular figure.
b) But, as a symbol of other things, the circle is transcendental.
For instance, one of the two above mentioned circle-arcs also
represents the Venus's buttocks... But can this arc be a part
of two,
or more things at the same time? Which thing is more real?
The circle, or the obese Venus-buttocks? According to the above
paragraph - the circle. Only later, it may be "recognized"
in context,
as part of a compound figure ( if we can transcend the symbolism).

Are there any humane alternatives to the Headless Venus, who could fill
her
boots visible at the bottom of the image? I see at least one. It even
has some
slight advantages: we don't have to put a naked female figure into
a pair of boots,
as that is just too kinky for serious science.
The boots are now worn by a lanky male in something like loose fitting
coveralls -
and he has a head upon his shoulders...
As seen below, he wraps his arms ,from behind, around a sexy female
figure in a green mini-skirt, cyan turtleneck sweater, and red boots.
In this variation, the girl is much slimmer ..
Starting with the nose, her face elongates forward, forming a kind
of
a wolfish snout. Considering that Stephane Lwoff also presents similar
faces (one reminds him of the Piltdown man - a forgery), could this
be
a case of another hybrid - a human/canine hybrid head ?.
What the scientists think a full headless neck - may actually be
the forehead of a large and grotesque, yet still female head hunched
between the figure's shoulders. The tablets showing possibly inter-
twined figures are sometimes referred to as "marriage certificates".
[snicker]
Well, it's too hard to keep a straight face here. The name is good,
but the idea is definitely quaint.
Marriage certificates to Headless Venuses? These certificates were
obviously never issued, but all kept together! Ah, no doubt for the
public record.. Aha., so those engravings, which are broken must be
proof of tribal divorces.. Voila, "true" archaeo-logical thinking.
:-)

In studying the image, over time we are sure to notice, or perhaps to
dream up
an inordinate number of faces, and figures. These often have a lot
of character.
