Evaluation

Your grade is based on your performance as a group, and as an individual. The first three categories below are the criteria for your group grade. The second three categories describe the criteria for your individual grade. Please read the evaluation descriptions carefully.

NOTE: The Individual Powerpoint Presentation applies to the Powerpoint technician only, while the Individual Analysis and Oral Presentation grade applies to everyone except the Powerpoint technician. The Individual Powerpoint Presentation is worth double points for the Powerpoint technician.

Group Powerpoint Presentation	Slides mentions the material without full coverage. Slides are confusing, and lack organization.	Slides cover the material but miss some of the main points. Slides lack clarity adding to confusion of the discussion. Organized but doesn't always match issues being discussed.	Slides cover the main points. Usually add to the clarification of the issues. Organized to match the issues being discussed.	Slides cover the material, always emphasizing the main points of the discussion. Slides consistent add to the clarification of the issues. Group Collaboration	Unorganized presentation which shows total lack of preparation or collaboration.	Presentations are organized but a few students may dominate the presentation, and a few may contribute little to the presentation. Presentation lacks preparation, which shows that some students didn't cooperate, assume individual responsibility, or help resolve conflicts.	Presentations organized with participation by each person. Presentation shows preparation by the students but may lack some smoothness because of minor problems in cooperation, individual responsibility, conflict resolution, or presentation practice.	Presentation is tightly organized, with equal participation by each person. Smoothness of presentation shows that the students worked cooperatively, took responsibility for their part of the presentation, and resolved conflicts. It is obvious that the students practiced their presentation.
Group Judgment	The recommendation is not based on presented information, and the criteria for the recommendation is unclear. Individual Powerpoint Presentation	Individual slides are visually unorganized. Graphics/font do not convey an understanding of the material. Transitions do not match the group's discussion. Errors in grammar and spelling. (20 points)	Individual slides contain the information concerning the discussion, but may lack graphics or contain distracting fonts/graphics. Transitions follow the discussion but don't always match the speaker's message. Grammar and spelling are correct. (40 points)	Individual slide design contain graphics and fonts which contribute and don't obstruct the slide's message. Transitions are general smooth and mostly follow the speaker's message. Grammar and spelling are correct. (60 points)	Individual slides design are visually stimulating with graphics and font choices that strongly convey the slide's message. Transitions are smooth and follow the speaker's message. Grammar and spelling are correct. (80 points)
Individual Analysis	Used less than three Internet sources. Unorganized presentation. Analysis is unclear, confusing, clearly not based on research.	Used less than three Internet sources. Makes points related but not clearly from research. Presentation is not made in a logical manner. Decision is presented as an opinion not based on research.	Data relevant to your specialty was gathered from at least three Internet sources. Points are made based on the information. Presentation is organized.
